  2. Yea sure, because I'm 22 its all about sex and i have no clue what im talking about. I did not imply that it was about sex. I however am saying that it is a problem if her husband is texting a young woman at their childs daycare. One would consider the motive for doing so. Why? She should be concerned. I am not saying cheating is the case in her situation but she should consider it be an option. I guess its all about what you think cheating is... clearly Mr. Steve believes it to be a physical thing (flirting & sex.) I believe different, its both a physical and an emotional thing, an emotional attachment is much worse in my opinion because thats harder to break. Though i am 22 it doesnt make me color blind, i know a red flag when i see one. Like i said, i certainly hope this is not the case and everything gets worked out.
  3. Women... Men are not dumb, we know when a woman is coming on to us, we look for those cues so we can know to move in. You guys actually give us that excuse that men are stupid and we don't know, and what better way to save ourselves by just playing in to it (I have done this, though i wasn't in a committed relationship.) I have always heard "if you have to question whether your significant other is cheating on you, chances are that they probably are." Does this mean approach the situation like you are certain? No, but don't ignore it neither. BTW, there is no such thing as harmless flirting, it opens up streams and avenues for other things to take place which can be harmful, this also applies to texting. I would think that whatever he has to ask or say could be said in person, out of secracy with no shame or guilt. My father always texted other woman and tried to hide it, i had my suspicions and they were right. Unfortunately, my mother is either stupid or weak because she denies that cheating is the case. I would think the latter because its not rocket science, she can go through his phone as i have and check for herself and find that she was living a lie all the while. Though one may think this is a matter of invasion of privacy on the spouses behalf, i can assure you its not. All that goes out the window when you are married and whats now his is now yours and vice versa. By all means, i am not saying go make accusations but i do suggest you consider your past with him and present habits and signs/ cues. Be rationale! I hope everything turns out well.
  4. This shows that right when we think we know everything we really dont because theres always some theory or idea that will refute what we thought we knew.>>>>> back to the drawing board, more research. thank you guys though for your knowledge.
  5. ohhhhhhhhhhhhh. Ok this makes so much sense. So as long as your are satisfied your metabolism will not shut down. I figured there were a certain amount of calories your body had to have or it would go into starvation mode. I understand, i hope this is my answer. Thanks.
  6. So im getting mixed information and i do not know which to believe. It seems as if low calorie intake is what causes weight loss, and this isn't reduced calorie intake but like i said LOW calorie consumption. However, i have also been told that a low calorie diet can kill ones metabolism especially for us that need or have had this surgery. Both of these ideas contradict each other and im officially confused. Many of us banders can't consume any more than 700-1000 calories which is what causes them to loose weight (purpose of lap band). So heres the question> Can we have a slow metabolism and still lose at a rapid rate like i see most do who eat no more than 1000 calories? or better yet> Does the lap band decrease our metabolism and still cause us to lose fat? hope this makes sense.
  7. Around how many calories do/ did you fellas intake daily during the the first 6 months post op to ensure steady and sufficient loss? thanks.
  8. Aaaahhhhhaaaaa!!!!....thanx guys for the help. I am already on mushies only after 1 1/2 weeks suprisingly. But i was given a slight fill, it was very small at the time of surgery but i have no restriction really.
  9. The first month is supposed to be the best month where most lose the most weight...so i have been told. If this is so why is that i have only lost 1 or 2 lbs at 1.5 weeks post op. and only 15 pre-op? I guess i am used to seeing most men at 30 lbs weight loss by the second week post op. I understand that everyone is different but could it be that my calorie intake is about 850 cal./day, and some days lower? I try to eat as much as i can but my surgeon gave me a very very small fill at the time of surgery and I cannnot intake that many healthy mushy foods, it really depends on the day. If calories are the reason how can i intake more?
  10. He will be tryin to crawl back in the near future. Do what is best for you, i had to learn that all people aren't going towhat the best for you. If your in this alone so be it, because your in it to win it. I hope everything is going well post-op.
  11. As you guys do or don't know my surgery date was feb. 4th, this past wednesday. Everything went better than i expected. The pain is bearable but its still pain. Still very sore, they kept me over night because of my sleep apnea, i have very mild sleep apnea but they just wanted to be sure that everything goes well. I was so nervous before i went in, my blood pressure was high as a kite but after wards it dropped to 114/51. The nurse seemed very concerned and said that it would be best to leave after my the bottom number reached at least 60. So i just got home about 30 minutes ago. The gas pain is out this world, the gas x strips dont seem to be doing much, but then again I'm not sure if its the gas alone or if its the soreness thats causing the pain. Dr. Ponce slightly filled my band, not sure why he did, it's very rare that it happens, but i can still eat and drink what i am supposed to. The staff were extremely nice, i couldn't have asked for better people, they reminded me what a better life i will have and what a good year this would be for me. The nurses and the anesthigologist (sp?) especially were the most attentitive and caring. I barely saw Dr. Ponce, he must have been extremely busy but i really wanted to talk to him and know personally how everything went (liver size, how much he put in band, hernia, how my insides looked and etc.) He however did talk to my parents in the waiting room and told them simply how it went. I arrived at 6am and thats when they took me in the room to get changed. Soon after the anes. Dr. talked to me which kind of made me feel a little more comfortable, then he pushed my bed to the operating room where i was greeted by some of the nurses who were extremely kind, complementing me and how handsome i was...and the hair, its not as good as everyone thinks it is, lol. Then....... I remember nothing else after scooting on to the operating table. I came to about 1 1/2 hrs. later in the recovery room, and there is where i waited till they got me a room. It was alllll good just in a little pain. Eeekk!!! alot of pressure is what it feels like, especially when i drink or eat the broth or jello. But all in all it was a life changing experience and everythingg went WELL. Thank God! Thanx for your support everyone, I appreciate it.
  12. So tommorrow is my day and i couldn't be more exciiii....NERVOUS!! lol. I am thankful for this opportunity, i am, but i am completely freaked right now. I guess the possibility that something could happened just hit me. Pray for me ya'll!! I only have a few more hours!
  13. It bothers me how some people just act so self righteous, like they are this extremely credible and reputable source, or perhaps the genius who invented the procedure, and you are the most ignorant person on earth. Kindness/ support is clearly distinguishable from cruelty/ bashing, lets remember that people (those who fail to show support on the boards.) Ivernous, the best thing you can do now is try your hardest to follow the guidlines the doctor provided for the duration of the pre-op diet. It was extremely hard for me and i admit, i cheated a few times. Does it make me any less deserving of something that could possibly change my life? NO! Everything will work out fine, Let us know how it goes. God Bless!!
