well I started this journey with spinal stenosis, at 341 pounds, my back hurt so much, i thought i was going to have to retire, i could only walk about one hundred yards, then i hurt so bad, i would need to sit down, my feet were swelling, i was taking all kinds of medicine, now, I only take flowmax, older male guy drugs, and that's it, My arthritis is almost gone, I can walk two miles no problem, blood pressure good, feet don't hurt. now I'm down to 255, my weight loss has slowed, but now wearing XL shirts not 3 and 4 Xl, pants size 48 to size 40. if My skin was removed, I would be a 38 waist here is me now, I am full of life again

well, it’s been one week, I went to my Back doctor, because I had spinal stenosis in the lower back for about three years, Tried having surgery, but I couldn’t because when I went into the operating room, when they flipped me over, I stopped breathing, so the operation was canceled, All I could do was walk about 100 feet then my back would hurt so bad, I would halve to sit down, I also couldn’t stand longer than 10 minutes at a time. Because of the pain, I also had arthritis pain in my knees, hips lower and upper back, I was a mess. Had my surgery, and yes it hurt, and yes, I had to change, I went to my back doctor, and he said I lost 24 pounds. I said wow. The first thing I noticed was my ankles, they weren’t swollen anymore. They looked kind of skinny, My back pain stated to go away, my arthritis pain went away, I showered yesterday and dropped my sock and I just reached down and picked it up, haven’t done that in a while. Rechecked today and yes, I have no problem picking up items off the floor. Went to the store, and walked around the whole time, feet are tired, but my back doesn’t hurt at all. After all this after one week, what’s to come in the future.
  8. i know this is a old post, but my spinal stenosis disappeared, one week after surgery, to me its unbelievable.

  11. Just had my Sleeve surgery today, got there at 7:10 am and was on the way home 11.30. I did not or have not had any nausea at all. my chest hurts, the walking every hour is tough , because i want to sleep. nothing to eat for two full days now, will try a protein shakes tomorrow, they wanted me to do liquids today. doing OK, but on the way home noticed all the fast food restaurants. and when i got home, everyone was eating in front of me, and there were some nice looking muffins on the table. I'm working on not letting that bother me, but I'm still not hungry , time to take some drugs and get some sleep.

    6 month post Op update

I hear you, I was in the military for ten years, size 33 waist after that, then I got married, had kids, and got a job traveling, everywhere you went, everyone would tell you there favorite restaurant, and of course it was a expense account, so you got what ever you wanted, my weight started going up and up, then when I hit 55 the weight jumped, Then I quit smoking and wow it jumped again, which caused me to get lower spinal stenosis. hurts like hell to walk 80 feet, one Dr said its because of the weight, after a failed back surgery, I had to do something again to walk, so I had the gastric sleeve. no real weight gold, just want to be able to walk.
