  2. As an option bypass is getting better and better I have a few friends with bypass and they have done well. There are many more oprtions out there now for bypass patients re:Vitamins and acceptable nutrition. I'm sorry to hear of your troubles. Good Luck in your journey. I personally have the band.
  3. Looking for a buddy, someone that would like to email on a pretty regular basis and really help keep me on track. It's basically like I have to restart the entire journey over again. So, if you think you might be a good match for me, I'll be waiting to see ya in my inbox.
  4. Awesome start, there is also a DVD called Weigh to Win, it has 3 levels of workout, the first one is done in your chair... I enjoyed it.

  6. Depends....whose insurance is paying for the band?
  7. I feel ya, although I am very far away from PS, I will say this, I have done a lot of research and I would like to offer my opinion. I have given this a lot of time and consideration. Some insurance pays for a panni, however, the result may not be what you were looking for. I am considering a tummy tuck-they are not the same thing. Also a panni does not consider your mons-the top of your pubic area-a different procedure. Sometimes if you have a panni your mons is streched up to your belly button and is a less than desirable look and no real way to correct it. I would encourage you to find a Plastic Surgeon who specializes in massive weight loss surgery so you get the look you really want. I know often procedures can be combined. I am probably 4 years away from having plastics, please keep me posted re: your journey.
  8. Personally, I am really tight when I first get up, so I have a protien shake until my band warms up. shake A: scoop of whey protien-chocolate, 1 cup chocolate slender soy, 1 tablespoon flax seed, 4 frozen strawberries, 1 cup ice and a squeeze of honey or shake B: 1 scoop of whey protien-chocolate, 1 tsp intant coffee, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1 cup slender soy-chocolate 1 cup of ice then 2 small meals and occasionally a snack.
  9. Since being banded I did have to have one unfill, I had gotten sick and the sinus drainage had irritated my stomach causing inflammation to the point where I was unable to drink water. I am back up to five in my band, I feel this is my sweet spot, and trying to get back to the gym. I had lost my motovation but feel it is returning. I want to succeed. My total loss is 120-130 with some flucuation, still have another 120 or so to go, which is a 18-24 month plan. Any support and tips are welcome. Good luck everyone. Looks like we have had some success stories here!:w00t:
  10. 8 days post you shouldn't even be considing whole foods...nevermind the fat in sunflower seeds. I would think you are still on full liquids. There are lots of stages until you get to the nut/seed time. Good Luck!

Called my doc Saturday at 4 am and he told me to go to the ER, so I went after work. Did a swallow study and liquid was not moving. So he had to take out my fill. I am a little bummed because I am not really having restriction. So I am trying to monitor my meals the best I can. So that is was is going on here in Texas!! You are killing the miles girl, hang in there!

  17. Wow ladies that sucks, hopw you have been warm and cozy. We only had one bad day with a couple of accidents and a couple of fatalities. A little bad weather and these people can't seem to drive. Just been working out at the gym, little cold to ride my bike or anything. I have been dealing with a work thing that has had me a bit bummed and not as enthusiastic with my workout.. Jen, we are walking virtually toward one another, you could make your first goal to get to Edie.. A 25 mile goal.. what do you think?:cursing:
  18. Went and logged some miles at the gym. 2.5 miles. Wanna join us jenhay?
  19. I don't post often, but ya'll crack me up...
  20. Had a fill Thursday, it was my first, so a little tight. What is this peanut butter in the oatmeal thing everone is doing?? How much pb to oatmeal? Sounds pretty good. Finally able to eat some "realish" food. 2 TBLS FF refried beans. 2inch lasange. 6oz greek yogurt with honey. How is everyone getting thier veggies in?
  21. I am not as good as posting here as Edie-she is such a good girl. I would estimate I have walked 60 miles since I last posted.
  22. Well since my last post here I have added another 12 miles toward Edie... just pluggin along! LOL
  23. My doc advised, 30 minutes before meals to last no longer than 20 minutes and wait 30 minutes after. Sometimes I wait longer based on my fullness. Good luck!
