  3. So my wife had VSG surgery yesterday 7/14/21 afternoon. She immediately had excruciating pain (on the left side incision where the stomach was pulled out) when getting out of or in the hospital bed, sitting on the toilet or standing up. Pain so bad she is screaming and crying from it. Can't even scoot back into a chair without crying out in pain. We are still in the hospital, she is on as much pain meds as they can give her so she is knocked out most of the time. The nurse and surgeon say this pain is completely normal. I have read alot of the groups where many say VSG surgery is less painful than a C-section. My wife has been through 2 C-sections and a emergency appendectomy with no problem at all, she has a pretty high pain tolerance. I say all this to ask is this normal? Anyone here have this pain level immediately?
