  1. Hi Tina, Where in Texas are you from? Where are you having surgery??? I live in east Texas and had my surgery done by a local surgeon. I have been happy so far, but think I need another fill!
  2. Leener, Glad to hear you are okay!!! Get some rest.
  3. Welcome to Bandland !!! I hope you have a speedy and"gasless" recovery!
  4. Robin, I hope you are able to get this taken care of soon!! I will be praying that god sends some help to you and ends your suffering. I agree with Melody, put some boards under the head of the bed, It will definately help!!(and get rid of the extra pillows)
  5. Lety, Sounds like everything went well for you. :bananadoggywow:
  6. That's Awesome!!!! You are going to look great on vacation!!
  7. Wow, glad to hear you are doing well after your appendix removal!!! I don't know about the surgery question. Why don't you call Dr. Benevides' office and see if the nurse can answer the question for you. Take care and rest.
  8. It depends on the amount your sugeon bills the insurance and what they allow. For instance say your doctor billed the insurance $13,500 and the insurance says the allowable expense for the procedure is $10,000 then you would have to pay $2000 of the $10,000. The same goes for the amount the hospital or surgical center charges. Sometimes it is hard to "guesstimate" because the insurance company won't tell you what they will allow on the eligible charges until the charges are actually submitted for payment. I know this because I was a medical insurance underwriter for several years.
  9. Thanks Jessie, Anne, 3loves, and Andrea! It's nice to have the support from all of you!!! I feel less stressed about it today and the discomfort level has diminished. Jessie: I might take you up on the pm thing, because it's nice to have somebody reassure you when you have all kinds of crazy thoughts go thru you head!!!! 3loves: My surgeon has decided when she goes in on monday to disconnect the tubing from the port and shorten it and reconnect. She thinks with the shorter lenghth it won't kink again. But she thought that last week when she fixed the kink and tack the tubing down to the abdominal wall. I am just a little leery that she is going to try to fix it this time in her office under a local. I'm not sure I want to be awake for this!!! LOL nervously!!!!! I love all you girls and again I really appreciate you all!!!!
  10. Roni, Glad to hear things went well for you!!! I can't wait til I get a fill, I've been so hungry!!! But until they get the tubing problem fixed I won't be getting fill. Can you tell if you have restriction??? I think 195 is a great goal, take small steps, that way the goal doesn't seem unattainable.
  11. Joy, I am glad to hear you are Loving school. I hope you get approved. Good Luck and welcome to LBT.
  12. Thanks Jamie!! It's just so hard trying to stay poitive, I was self pay and I keep thinking what kind of financial predicament did I get us into....when I keep having complications.
  13. Congrats!!!! I bet they look nice on you!! Let us see .
  14. I was banded on the 21st of March and then on the 3rf of April I had emergency surgery to fix what they thought was a port problem but ended up being a "kink" in the tubing. NOw 1 week later another kink!!! I am so depressed. This is not fair!!!!! The doctor wants to wait til monday and do it in her office under a local. I am scared!!!!! Not sure if I want to do that or not. but I am in discomfort and I know it nees to be fixed. Is this common???? I haven't heard of anyone continually getting kinks. I want to see what kind of statistics Inamed has on this. I cried alot today and am so unsure if I made the right decision in the first place. I knew there was a possibility of complications but tubing kinks were never mentioned to me. This is hard to explain, but I am so depressed and stressed over this.... I am nauseated.
  15. Trish, I am so sorry you are going thru all of this. I hope that the new banding works out well and your infection gets better soon. By the way how did you get in touch with Inamed??? I want to contact them regarding the kinking that keeps occurring in my tubing!
