  1. Hello to all December bandsters! I was banded on Dec. 5th and everything is going good. I am on a clear liquid diet and still sore but that's to be expected. I am so excited and glad I found this site. I will post all my stats later. Good luck to my fellow bandsters:smile:
  2. Hello to all! This is my first post on this thread but I am so encouraged by everyone. My surgery is Dec. 5th and I am nervous. Tricare approved everything pretty fast. I am going to be on the pre-op diet for Thanksgiving and sounds like mushies for Christmas. When I started the process in July, it seemed like it was forever; but now it seems like it went by soo fast. WOW!! I am excited, nervous, and anxious all together.
  3. ladybug..... I went to a seminar by S&W and Dr. Rodriguez was the speaker. He talked about GB & LB. It might depend on the insurance your friend has as to whether or not they cover the surgery; but they have a comprehensive WLS program. I was just curious as to what experiences others have had. You know....trying to do my research.
  4. Hello! I am just starting the process. Rec'd referral from PCM and attended the seminar. Any thoughts or experiences (good/bad)on the program or Dr. Rodriguez over there at S&W in Temple? Just curious while waiting to here from them.:wink2:
  5. Thanks for the info. I met Dr. Spiegal in 2006 when I was looking at the LB, but tricare wasn't approving it then and I WAS NOT doing the GB. He was nice. I have lived so many different places with so many doctors. I wonder if I should request my records from all those places just in case. I probably will, just so I will have them. Did you have to stay overnight? I have read on some posts that Tricare likes for you to stay overnight. PCM referral:thumbup: Info Seminar:thumbup:
  6. Hey! Thanks for the info. I am a Navy wife too. I am trying to be patient, but the waiting and not hearing anything drives me crazy:eek:. I talked with them today and they said that the business office will contact me this week or next week to set up appointments. Thanks again and good luck to both of you with your LB journey!
  7. Hey Tx! I read that you are having your surgery with S&W. I have started the process. What all does their program entail? My doc is Rodriguez. Well, that is who is on my referral from my PCM. Good Luck on your surgery!!:biggrin2:
  8. Hello to all tricare prime people! I am also new here to LBT. I rec'd the approval from my PCM and waiting for people to contact me from the Scott & White program in temple. I have tricare-prime and just wanted to know if anybody out there has gone through S&W? I am just at the 100lb mark, BMI 41, and have pre-hypertension; but if I lose 10lbs my ins. wont pay. Does anybody know how long is the process to surgery? I have been reading this forum for about a month and it is awesome.
