hi my name is Denise, a mom of 4 awesome adult children, a fiancé to a great man,a grammy to my beautiful granddaughter, dog lover, family and friends are my life and having fun..I found Bariatric Pal looking for vitamins for people with weight loss surgery, it took me a few too many years but Im happy i found the website.Ive been trying to lose weight since I was a teen, tried every diet out there and i would lose 20 pounds and gain 30 back. After having 4 children and just turning 40 I was my heaviest ever. My brother and cousin had gastric bypass .I seen how much weight they lost and thought maybe this is what I needed. So I went to my primary doctor and spoke with her, she recommend the surgery too,it took me a few months and a few tests but in March of 2009 i received my date April 20th.I was nervous and excited all at the same time. The day of my surgery i had to be at the hospital at 6am.The drive up there seemed so long but wasn't.My boyfriend came with me. I was prepped and ready by 8, they told Steve it should take approximately 3 hours. Well my surgery was 7 hours and I was suppose to get it laparoscopic, I woke up to a 8 inch cut. They couldn't do it laparoscopic because I had too much fat around my organs to move them out of the way to get to my stomach, they also had to do my surgery with me standing up,I found out all this when the doctor came after my surgery. The 3 days I was in the hospital was hard since I was cut.I still had to walk to get rid of all the gas, once I was home it was easier. It was painful for a few weeks but once I started losing weight i knew it was worth all the pain I had. This journey in my life has had some bad,I  have some stomach issues now, but I wouldn't change a thing. Im so happy with my self and the weight I lost and fight keeping off.
They asked for me to write a little about my personality.....First let me say I was diagnosed with Bipolar when I was 18. It has been hard sometimes,I went thru different addictions, but food is the worse addiction to quit. I love to enjoy life and be happy as much as possible. If I could help a person with anything I will.Life is short and this world is crazy right now.Enjoy every second you can : )
