I will be banded Aug 4th. I'm enjoying this site so much. I have notes everywhere. My hubby walked in the other night and said what are all these notes you have stuck on this computer monitor. My question today is....What is the purpose for doing the pouch test? I want to give you all a big THANK YOU for all your help getting me started and CONGRATULATIONS on all of your weight loss. Ok...gals what do you think. I have my 1st pre op appt July 18th. Would you eat what you want until then and enjoy myself. I had taken myself off of sodas before I saw the nutitionist and she told me to enjoy them while I can. Just wondering if you all agree with me. :confused2:

I hope I don't regret telling everyone that I am getting the band in Aug. I was so excited I told everyone. What I am worried about the most is the girls in my office, I'm afraid the real young ones will be stuffing their mouth in my face going oh pj this is soooo good. I think at first I will eat my lunch in my car. You know how some can be.

Yes, 3 appts. with shrink. First visit she just talked to me about past diets I have tried. 2nd visit she gave me a test to find out what kind of person I am. Last visit she went over the test with me. The nutritionist talked to me about the different protein drinks, vitamins to take. How much etc. Explained the lap band some and how it works. How much allowed to eat during a meal ( size of a deck of cards ) :thumbup: lol can't wait...ready to get started.

My pre-op date is for July 18th. forgot that...lol

I went for my first appt. with Lap Band Dr. on May 7, 2008 to talk about getting the band. They wrote to my Ins. company for approval. I got my approval on May 14th. Since then I have had 3 appts. with a psycologist to see if I'm able to handle the life change. Then I had Appt. with a nutrionist. Once the Dr. recieved their report they scheduled my sugery for Aug. 4th.

My surgery date is Aug. 4th. I go July 18th for my pre op appt with Surgeon. I noticed someone mentioned they have to lose 12 lbs by surgery date. Why is that?

Thanks, Long2BeThin & Indiogirl. I'm very excited that I found this 50's group. I have a long journey ahead of me, as I have around 103 lbs I would like to lose. No...not like, I am GOING to lose. Will need all the help and support I can get, and will be here to give it as well. Happy 4th Everyone !!
