Good Luck all with your pre-op diet and surgeries! You all will do great! For me, the 1st couple of days home after surgery were a bit rough, but by the third day, the brain fog was gone and once I figured out how much I was able to sip at once, it was much better. My surgeon said that the more I drank, the easier it would get...he was right! I also got some Proti Diet 15g Protein Soup - Chicken. My clinic sells them for $10/box of seven. Had them in the hospital and they actually soothed my new tummy. And are really good. They have been a life saver for me with getting my protein in each day. You can get them various places online, including Bariatric Pal Shop.

I am now 3 days post op. No major issues...working through some nausea, but other than that...no pain. I do walk every few hours up our 700ft driveway to the street. I think that has helped with the gas pain. Also using a heating pad to help with back pain. Down 16lbs from intake weight and down 12lbs from day of surgery. I know that is mostly, if not all, water weight. But I'll take it! Just happy to be on the other side and on the road to the new me!! And absolutely no hunger...which is really amazing since I have not had any food since last week.

Surgery was yesterday, went great! Did have a hiatal hernia the surgeon had to repair, so procedure took a bit longer. All in all, much better than I thought it would be. Little to no pain, just gas, which was helped by walking. Nursers said I was walking so much that the 2 other sleeve patients got motivated so as not to be outdone! I home resting comfortably now, sipping on water infused protein. Hoping to keep the no pain meds pain under control so I don't end up with BM issues. All and all, no issues, low pain and already down 12lbs since my initial consult and maybe more after I get rid of the water weight from all the iv fluids. So happy this part is over! Welcome! And congratulations on putting yourself FIRST! Me personally, would get the tests scheduled. Sometimes the first available appointment(s) will be several weeks out. And I would think that any tests you take for surgery clearance would not have to be taken again. Good luck with everything and keep the forum posted on your progress! This is a great forum for support and ideas as you start this life changing journey!

Congratulations! My surgery is tomorrow morning and I have had moments of nervousness. I think what you are feeling is normal! And most of the people here who have already had the surgery and are several months/years out all seem to say the same thing...They wish they had done it sooner! Good Luck! And from what others are saying your tastes may change after surgery, so don't stock up on too much of the same shakes. ?

I would call your scheduling nurse and not wait for them to call you. I did that for several of my steps in this process. My 1st intake appt was March 11 and my surgery is scheduled for Monday, April 19th. The scheduling nurse said it was the quickest turnaround with insurance approval she had ever seen. You have to be your own advocate! And even if they are not able to schedule you when you call, your file [name] is now on their radar. ?

Awesome! Mine is scheduled for 10:30am...wish is was earlier, but I'll take it! Check in after you are in recovery and feeling up to it and let me know how it went!

Hoping you get bumped up! I had my MD consult and pre-op classes today, along with my final labs, xrays and covid test. Was hoping for a surgery date next week, but really expected it to be further out...bariatric director pulled me out of class and asked me if I would want the cancellation spot on Monday! Thank goodness I have been doing the pre-op diet for over a week.

Surgery scheduled next week, April 19th! Ready...so ready! ?
