    Weight Loss

I've been keeping track of my weight loss and knew it would slow down once I started getting off the liquid phase and started introducing food back into my diet, but I've gained a pound now. I'm not eating unhealthy, aside from some frozen yogurt yesterday. Is it normal to see a pound or two weight gain as your eating food and becoming more active in the beginning? My surgery was 3/31/21 and I've lost 29 pounds, but up 1 pound this morning. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. I love breakfast, so I can't imagine not having some kind of breakfast. When I'm in a rush, I'll just put 6 ounces of almond milk, packet of decaf folgers instant coffee, scoop of genepro unflavored protein powder, and a pump of Jordyn's skinny mix coffee syrup in a shaker bottle and drink that at work. If I'm really pressed for time, I grab a pre-made protein drink. If I have time though, I'd rather eat food and I enjoy scrambled eggs, my version of egg salad, or high protein oatmeal. Diarrhea?

Hello everybody, I had laproscopic sleeve gastrectomy on the 31st. Aside from the constant gas pain and vomiting everytime I took pain medicine, recovery went pretty well. The thing I have been dealing with the last few days is diarrhea though. The day after surgery, I actually pooped myself thinking it was just gas. At that time is was watery. It was incredibly embarrassing and I'm so thankful my nurse and CNA were more than understanding. Saturday (3 days post-op) it was very soft. Sunday it was starting to get more loose again. Today it watery again and I've gone multiple times. I've been trying to change up what I've been consuming, thinking it was the milk or the soups I've chosen to eat, but it doesn't seem to help. It doesn't make sense that I also had diarrhea the day after surgery when I was NPO for so long. Has anybody else experienced this? Is it normal? Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Diarrhea?

Yeah it's a concern of mine, but I'm taking in as much water as I'm losing so I don't feel dehydrated at all. I haven't had any problems being able to drink adequate fluid, thank goodness. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

  6. I just don't understand why some insurances makes it so dang hard when it's already a difficult decision to make for us. Don't gain weight!? We're doing this because we can't keep the weight off in the first place!! Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

    800 calories a day

If you sign up for Kindle Unlimited, you'll find so many books with recipes for bariatric surgery patients! I've already tried a few meals and they're actually tasty (parmesan-crusted cod, for instance)! Most of them have few ingredients and short cooking times, which are right up my ally. I also created a weekly meal planner with a shopping list section in Excel to help me plan better (I basically found one that I liked online and modeled mine after it). So I'll sit down, pick out recipes that I want to cook, write them in the days that I'll eat them, jot down the ingredients, then go through my pantry and mark off what I have. I just picked up a few things today, in fact. One thing I've learned while trying to diet in the past, is that it's much easier to stick to it when you plan it out and set aside a day to meal prep. The first image is the blank planner, the second is one I filled out for next week. I put the page numbers of the recipes to find easy and the circled numbers on the right represent how many servings I'm at from that recipe (most of them make 4 servings). Camping?

Hi everybody! First, I want to introduce myself. My name is Ammaris, I live in beautiful southwest Florida, and I'm having the sleeve gastrectomy on March 31st. I'm nervous and excited! So I'm in a predicament. Back in September, I scheduled a camping trip to Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park for April 16-18. The biggest thing for me is that it's an International Dark Association park and I want to get some beautiful starry sky pictures. I invited my parents and the plans were for my parents to come with their RV. Then I decided that I wanted to bring my pup, but I'd have to sleep in a tent or on a bed in my Jeep since my parents don't want any dogs in their RV. Now they're concerned that it's so soon after surgery (just over 2 weeks) and are telling me not to go at all--they'll go and just pay me for the reservation. I chose that weekend because it's as close to the new moon as I could get. I REALLY want to go on this trip. I'm willing to leave my dog home that way I could sleep on something more supportive. Otherwise I'll just stay home and be bummed that I'm missing out on the camping trip I invited my parents on for the beautiful views. My one true concern is the heat of Florida and if I'd become dehydrated. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app
