    Any March 2021 Sleeve Patients?

Weight loss has basically stopped. I’d like to get to 150 but totally thrilled where I am. Wondering if this is the end of the losing since it’s been about 6 weeks.

    Any March 2021 Sleeve Patients?

How is everyone doing? Sadly, my hunger has come back much quicker than expected as have my cravings for carbs and I am HUNGRY! I simply make sure I have protein close by or veggies or fruit. It is difficult some days. I had my yearly physical yesterday and my primary care said she was concerned I was loosing to much weight too fast. Just curious what everyone else is experiencing. I do find I am following exactly what my dr and dietician recommended.

    Gummy multivitamin?

My surgeon recommended Flintstones Complete. Had surgery on March 1, 2021 and so far no issues. I was also told no gummies.

    Negative reactions to getting plastics.

Many years ago, I lost 50+ lbs and had lots of extra skin. I took my husband to the drs consult so he could hear the benefits. The biggest benefit besides not having skin on top of skin was I wanted to feel better about my body. Sometimes we aren't selfish (not a bad word) for ourselves. I was so busy taking care of others, I wasn't focusing on me. I made a list of pros and cons and then had a very adult conversation with those that mattered as to the why. I had full support after doing this process. Interestingly enough, one of our closest friends followed me as well in having surgery and we became each others support buddy. Ask the dr if he has anyone considering similar surgery from WLS and give your information to him/her to give to the person. Also, ask on her for a support buddy. This site is great for assistance. Once I am 18 months out, I will be looking at plastic surgery again.

    Fatigue

I am almost 11 weeks out. I do find when I don't take my vitamins as I should, I am sluggish. I now set a phone alarm to remind me. Very helpful reminder.

    Any March Surgeries?

Congrats on the blood pressure medicine cutting! I was able to do the same. I have found several bits of food throughout the day helps. One thing I found was the quest protein chips. They help with hunger and allow me to feel like I am "eating" with the chewing. I had similar with pills. I did get a pill cutter which helped with swallowing pills. Just some ideas. The weight you have loss is awesome!!!
  14. I haven't regretted the surgery over all. I have struggled at times with acid reflux and spent a few nights sleeping in the recliner. I have also struggled when I really liked the taste of a certain food but could not eat more than a few bites. My only true regret is not having the surgery sooner. As for restrictive food, I am only 8 weeks out but have already had a small amount of ground beef with cheese at a Mexican restaurant so I am not sure why it would be restricted. I don't have any desire for anytime of coke products or beer both of which I loved when I was not focused on being healthy AND I can't wait to try the Quest Peanut Butter Cups!!

    Any March Surgeries?

Checking in on a Friday night! How is everyone doing? I am almost 2 months since my surgery was March 1st. I am eating a little more but still very restricted as far as amount of intake at one time. I have found Quest chips crave my need to "having a crunching sound" when eating. Weight from surgery date is 34 lbs and 54 lbs all together. I have way more energy and each week seems to be better. The hardest part has been the acid reflux and constipation. TMI. If I could figure out those 2 issues, all would be really good! Would love to hear how the rest of you are doing!!

  17. I am all about the sugar free popsicles! I don't eat anything after 8pm otherwise major acid reflux.

    Humapro Protein Powder

Does anyone use or have experience using Humapro Protein Powder? It was recommended to me but not by a bariatric patient. Tomorrow, I’m 6 weeks post op from gastric sleeve. Thank in advance.

    Humapro Protein Powder

Thank you so much for replying. I agree on the expense but the scoops are half the size of the "normal" protein scoop. I did find it cheaper on Amazon. I will reach out to my nutritionist. Thank you again!

    Any March 2021 Sleeve Patients?

Today was my first follow up from surgery on March 1st. I lost 20lbs before surgery from January 25-March 1. Today I was down 20lbs from March 1st surgery. Dr was pleased and said average is about 10-20 lbs. Prior to surgery, I took BP medicine, metformin, diabetic medication and acid reflux medicine. Today I am now only on my reflux medicine, diabetic medication (farxiga) has been reduced to 5mg, calcium and multi vitamin. My PCP expects I will be off all diabetic medication in a few weeks. 40lbs gone is awesome. Eating is getting better. Sleep is interesting as some nights are great and others are full of insomnia. I am able to get in my protein & fluid even thought some days, it is mostly through liquid. I no longer regret the surgery at all. I actually wish I had done it much sooner. I need some easy protein ideas to carry in my cooler bag to lunch. I still have not been able to add vegetables to my meals, only protein. How are the rest of you doing?

    Travel after surgery

I just traveled by car for 5.5 hours on Friday and returned home Sunday night and I had sleeve surgery 3 weeks ago. I had no issue. I packed my own cooler with my foods. Stayed hydrated and stayed on track with my food. It was nice to see my daughter and other than a small nap on Saturday. All was great!

    What is your why?

I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in December. For me it was the straw. I suffer from PCOS so my weight has always been an issue. I am also going to be a grandmother in April which was my secondary reason. I knew if I didn't do something, I would not be here long term and my health would decline.
  23. I had my sleeve on March 1st. I took last week off. I returned to work yesterday but working from home. Honestly, I would have been okay going into an office yesterday but it may have pushed it a little much. Today has been a great day. I am enjoying the comfort of working from home this week. I would say at least a week to a week & half to be on the safe side.

    Surgery is Tomorrow.

Good luck! My best advice is walk as much as they will let you after surgery. It helped so much. My other advice is do exactly as they tell you. You got this!!!

    Any March 2021 Sleeve Patients?

The rash was on my face and arms. Turns out I was allergic to the antibiotic, Ancef. I have been on steroids, Benadryl and Pepcid since Tuesday. I’m 100% better but it was so weird. I’ve never had my face feel so hot and look so red. My dr was great!
