mgnicole79 got a reaction from loliver3 in I am so done with this liquid diet...
Idk if it helps but yes popsicles help and a few times I've chewed something and spit it out just to keep my sanity. Terrified to swallow anything else though. You can do it and I agree with checking in with your headspace around food. It's tough. Im 15 days postop and tried sleeping back in my bed tonight. Its a nogo. [emoji36]

I didn't really exercise until at least 6 months post sleeve, and even then struggled with energy levels. I hit goal weight at 9 months post op, and then worked on getting my fitness up and lifting weights to build muscle mass. Give it time, I literally could not manage structured exercise at 3 weeks out, I was weak from lack of food!

I didn’t enjoy the protein shakes either. They were too sweet & grainy but I persevered. It is only two weeks & you can do it too. Mind you I was only drinking one shake & a soup each day. I just wasn’t hungry or interested in food.
And I hate to tell you but you still won’t be chewing for another couple of weeks when you start on soft food. (Purées should be sloppy & completely lump free - nothing to chew.)
This is a good time to think about your eating. How much of this is coming from your head? Why do you want it versus need it? Wanting something to chew is as much a craving (emotionally driven eating) as wanting something sweet or salty.
This isn’t easy but it is so worth it. You can do this.

I am 8 days postop and having this same issue. Everything gets on my nerves and I yell. Which is not like me. Hoping it chills out soon.

You don't really feel it much while still on liquids. Trust me, when you start eating more bulky stuff, you'll know. I'm 11 days out now, and on softs. Had 3/4 of a scrambled egg this morning and could eat NO MORE.
