  1. There is the Bariatric Advantage capsule. Its just one pill a day. Their chewables at times made me feel sick but I've never gotten sick with the capsules. I've worried about the vitamin patches as it takes months before you will have vitamin deficiencies show up. So I've not wanted to take any chances. So maybe try the once a day capsule first?
  2. I hadn't crossed my legs in years and found myself doing it without thinking! I can wrap my towel around me and tuck it in too! My shoes too big for my feet and my rings are falling off my fingers. Tying my shoes without help. No more rashes, cysts and chafing from the skin being rubbed together or too moist. Less sweating! I get cold now all the time when I sweat like a pig before!

    Hungry! Post op 2 weeks

You are breaking that food addiction and it's your mind reading that signal as hunger, when in fact you are really thirsty. You need to try and drink upwards of 100 oz.of water a day and retrain yourself to remind yourself that you're not hungry your body is thirsty. Things have changed now and once you up your water intake you will fill a big difference. You want to keep yourself really hydrated as it's really easy to get dehydrated and get constipated. Once you've dealt with bad constipation a few times like I have, you'll keep on top of it too. Just remember your not hungry your body needs water 😉
  4. Panda Express has a mushroom chicken bowl you can get over smart greens. I literally can get 2-3 portions from it.
  5. Hi! You had your surgery a month before mine! I get GenePro unflavored protein powder on Amazon. It's 30 grams of protein and just 50 calories. You can put it in a Gatorade Zero shake it up and have your 30 grams of protein. I'll mix it with milk, almond milk, coconut milk etc first and then pour it in my coffee as a creamer. I do green smoothies with water or milk, scoop of protein, frozen fruit, spinach and kale add a little sugar substitute if needed and blend up in the blender! Lots of easy things you can do with it! Nice thing is it has no flavor and will take on the flavor of whatever you add it too. Good luck getting your protein in!

    9 days out issues

Sounds like you may need to call your surgeon especially with the low grade fever just in case you're getting an infection. I think the one normal common thing is feeling tired and ran down at your stage. I did a lot of sleeping the first 6 weeks. Between healing from surgery to the restriction of calories,it doesn't give you a lot of energy. I'm 10 weeks and started to feel a lot more energy about 8 weeks out. If I do a lot one day the next day I'm usually wiped out. My doctor said that's normal till around 6 months out. I hope you feel better and they can get to the bottom of why you don't feel good
  7. I had surgery 7 weeks ago and it took me awhile to start having any energy. But the last 3 days all I want to do is sleep. Like I'll sleep for 12 hours! I've been so good about my protein, my vitamins, my water intake to a minimum 64 ounces and have been trying to increase my calories to 700 like my doctor said. I see my surgeon next week and I'm going to ask him about checking my iron. Anyone else go through this? Any suggestions? Sent from my LM-V600 using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. Thank you, that helps me feel like maybe it's just a part of the process of this. I try to be active but I've not had a lot of energy. So we will see what the doctor says. Sent from my LM-V600 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Hard time adjusting

I remember feeling that the first few weeks after surgery. You feel a bit of buyers remorse and I know my mind was like I'd give anything if I could eat food.! Lol...I found I had to not have my family eat around me and just would concentrate on myself. Sugar free popsicles really helped me as it was good to crunch and chew on something. When you can see the scale start to move really helps motivate you. I'm 5 weeks out and it does get a lot easier. I'm starting to eat more normal but it pouch is small so I can only eat about a half a cup. So I concentrate on getting my protein in, I don't eat breads, and very low carb. But I enjoy eating fish, chicken, meatballs, homemade cheeseburger with no bun etc. It gets easier it really does. Hang in there!
  10. Also you should be taking a daily antacid,GasX really helps too. Sent from my LM-V600 using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. So Idk who gave you the advice to eat mushy foods 3 days out from surgery.but you are only supposed to have clear liquids. No pureed food or anything. You can have jello and sugar free popsicles. Drink your protein drinks. Bone broth, Isopure liquid drinks are great as 20 fluid oz has 40 grams of protein.. Gaterade zero with unflavored protein powder you could do too. But no food. Just sip sip sip clear liquids. That's your job just to get your liquids and protein in. Here is a link that is very beneficial. Good luck! https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.obesitycoverage.com/amp/the-big-gastric-sleeve-diet-guide Sent from my LM-V600 using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. I know I heard from other fellow bariatric patients on instagram that surgery will usually bring on your period. I know for me I got my period 2 days after surgery. It was a real dark blood heavy flow with a bit of funk to it and then moved onto something more normal after a few days. I wasn't due for a period for 2 weeks so I knew it was because of the surgery. I also had terrible night sweats and hot flashes the 2nd and 3rd days after surgery. So I think what happened to you is pretty normal. Hang in there it only gets better! I'm 6 days post-op! Week of 11/9/2020 surgeries

I have to agree I feel a lot better since I've been home but at the hospital was brutal. I didn't realize I'd have to be on top of making sure they'd bring me pain medication as much as I did. Unfortunately, by that point I was miserable and in tears. It's so much better once you get home! Sent from my LM-V600 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Week of 11/9/2020 surgeries

Yes I had my surgery on Nov.11th! Gastric sleeve was done. What did ya'll have done and how do you feel? I felt pretty miserable in the hospital the day I was discharged. I felt like they didn't do very well keeping me on top of the pain. I has morphine for a short while and then TramAdol and one Tylenol 3 with codeine. I seriously felt like I regretted doing the surgery. But once I got home and could take the prescriptions the doctor gave me for pain I felt a lot better. Anyone November 2020

I had my surgery yesterday and everything went smoothly. The worse part is the gas left in your stomach. It is so uncomfortable even painful at times as it has had made my back ache and my chest hurt almost like pressure from indigestion. I've been walking and doing my breathing treatments which helps. I hope it endssoon Sent from my LM-V600 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Anyone November 2020

Hi everyone! I am scheduled for my sleeve gastrectomy on Nov.11th. I was told I only need to do 3 days of pre-op clears diet. So I was relieved I don't have to do it as long. I've got like bone broth, sugar free jello, sugar free flavors to add to water. Any ideas for other things to drink? Sent from my LM-V600 using BariatricPal mobile app
