Bibi27 got a reaction from Yray in Anyone for October 2020?
Thanks so much for responding, so far I have her on a good food and exercise schedule. She was feeling very Wel today but that’s because she wasn’t consistent with her protein shakes last night and this morning and I’m thinking was getting dehydrated. I was able to get her feeling better with Gatorade and with her protein shakes? I definitely feel and empathize with her pain, but I also need her to understand how important it is to keep up with the diet she was given if not it can be deadly.

Support is the best thing you can do. Take things slow. I had mine on 10/19 and am a week end. It will take a little while for the good habits to take root. Do what you can to support them whether eating healthy with her, cooking recommended food, removing the bad stuff from the panty (if it didn’t happen pre-op) and just being there. This is a positive step to a healthy and life sustaining path so reinforce that you appreciate her sacrifice. I would encourage empathy but not sympathy. Empathy is understanding she is in pain while sympathy is doing stuff for her because of the pain. Movement helps so make sure she is up and moving And doing things for herself. In a couple weeks, consider joining her on walks. Please reach out if you have any specific questions and she is lucky to have you.

Thanks so much for responding... I asked only because I seen others mention the purée stage and so it confused me cause I know In the guide we have on week two it includes cream soups and stuff like pudding.

I apologize. I just looked through my paperwork, and I don't appear to have a pureed stage. I guess that might go in the "soft foods" stage for mine, because after that, I have "soft/solids". LOL Like I said, every team has a different plan.

    You're a gem, helping your mom ❤️

The "full liquid" on the plan my surgeon does is not pureed food, it is stuff like pudding, cream soups with no bits, protein shakes, yogurt, etc. My plan has a "soft foods" stage in between full liquid and pureed, too. I'd ask the surgical team or dietician for the guidelines they recommend, because they all seem to be different.
