  1. Wow...I can't believe we're coming up on our 1 year mark. It's been quite a year. I've lost around 85 pounds and I only have about 9 more to go until I reach my goal. I keep thinking that this time last year I was at my heavist (247) and feeling so awful and out of control...now I'm in this new body and I feel so grateful! Congrats to all!
  2. Well I'll chime in here...in a little under 10 weeks, I've lost around 30 pounds. I'm so excited!! I'm feeling more comfortable in my body, and more confident. I can't wait to get to Onederland!!!
  3. Hello- I am just starting to look for a surgeon. I still need to loose aboaut 10 lbs (started at 262 now 171). I'd like my thighs lifted, upper arms fixed and a tummey tuck. I live in Wa State but I am willing to go to Mexico or ? as it will be self pay all the way. Suggestions??
  4. Thanks for the tip Snow! I'll try it tonight!
  5. Hi All...thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself to some local people. I was banded on 7/23 by Dr. Aceves in Mexico. I'm healing well and doing my diet pretty well, though I do fight head hunger and physical hunger at times. I'm in the full liquid stage until next Monday when I can start mushies...I confess that today I had a serving of cream of wheat because I wanted to not be hungry for a longer time, and because I'm so tired of what I've been eating...I mean slurping...*sigh* Doing that made me feel bad, so I will stick to dr.'s orders and wait 'til next Monday before having any more cream of wheat. Anyways, I realize that I'm starting to ramble...just wanted to jump in and say Hi!
  6. I had surgery on 7/23 and for the first 10 days I was on thin fluids...I tell ya, there were times when I was SO hungry! In fact I had creamed soup 2 days early because I was so hungry. Now that I'm on full liquids, my hunger is under control. I will get to start mushies in a week, yippy! I'm down 20 pounds from the pre-op diet and since being banded. Whoo-hoo!
  7. So I have my surgery scheduled for 7/23. The doctor wants me to go on a high protein, low fat, low carb diet for 1 week. I'm so anxious to get going that I want to start sooner and maybe do the diet for 2 weeks, but is this really a good idea? I want to make sure I balance my enthusiam with reality here...
  8. Your sugery is tomorrow?! Wow! Good luck! I'll be thinking of you! Let us know how you're doing when you can.

  10. Hi Mygirl! I'm going to Dr. Aceves on July 23rd...you'll have to tell me all about the adventure! I'm excited for you...and for myself too. Good luck!
