  1. They're talking about taking my diabetes meds off me completely just loosing the 27 pounds I've lost. I'm consistantly running low. Teri
  2. I'm a stay at home mom. I'm being banded on tuesday, and will be back to being a mom tuesday evening. Course I'll have a teenager here to help with the boys  teri
  3. Metformin comes in a liquid form. It's nasty though. And yes you can mix them with watered down applesauce (at least my dr's allow it). teri
  4. I'll be banded on the 16th. I'm not on any special diet, just trying to keep off the 13 pounds I had to. Funny thing is I've now lost a total of 25 pounds.
  5. You'll be in my thoughts. Good luck teri
  6. HI Shari, I ate, and fatmommy. We're all so close in dates. I had all those meetings last week. It was time consuming, but was really easy. I was there like 3 hours. Teri
  7. Mine recommends 64 grams. Teri
  8. We are still in potty training Hello! Michael has the idea, but gets busy playing, and then poops. He is pretty consistantly doing pee in the potty. Matthew is disabled, so it's just not clicking. He has cerebral palsy. In time it will. Teri
  9. Good luck! Have a safe trip, and recover fast. We'll miss you! teri
  10. Here in NY it just has be a center of excellence (mine is), you have to have a bmi of 35+, and 1 co-morbidity (they have a shorter list than most insurance companies). That's how I'm getting mine  teri
  11. HI Lindsey, I'm being banded the day before you. That's neat. So glad we've got this little group. We can complain about life as a single parent, or rejoice over how great it feels to play with our kids  teri
  12. The twins were delivered as a scheduled csection at 38 weeks 3 days. My cervix is like a steel trap. Even my miscarriages worked out to be D&C's because the baby would die, and my body would continue to grow. teri
  13. My dr's are hopeful it'll at least be more managable for me. I too have PCOS. I did manage to get pregnant 4 times... 2 resulting in kids. I have a 11 1/2 yr old son from my first (was on birth control pills), and then I got pregnant on an ovary suppression med (xoladex, lupron type med), with twins! I also took for my second pregnancy metformin, because I was diabetic. Apparently it helped. Teri
  14. I'm still in the pre op phase. I'll be banded in 16 days. Whoo hooo! teri
  15. I am gonna be glad that mine is gone. My reflux started when I got the hernia. So the dr seems to think it'll go away. Teri
  16. I'm completely comfortable with my surgeon, and NO required liquid or special diet. His success rate is incredible, so I'm doing as he said... well no.. I'm not going into this constipated, so I'll mainly stick to liquids the day before, and take some laxatives if necessary to clean out good. I've had an ex lap with being a little backed up, and one without. Boy getting my bowels working after the one where I had some stool left was a nightmare. So I know for me, I'll do that part, but it's not necessary. Teri
  17. That is too cool. Are you nervous? Who's taking care of the kids? Yours are older, so they'll probably be ok alone right? Mine aren't old enough  Or mature enough. My mom is taking the twins, and my older boy is gonna be in school when I have the surgery done. Then she'll send them home with my dad, and my neices will be here. hugs. I look forward to hearing more from you. Teri PS I see you lived thru the terrible two's times two. I'm so in a nightmare right now with them.
  18. Thanks for the encouragement. I hope to be in your place next year. Teri
  19. Thanks for posting... i do have a hiatal hernia. I have known about it for years. It'll be fixed when I have my lapband placed 9/16. Teri
  20. I'm about a week before you. I live in NY. teri
  21. I don't have to either. My surgeon doesn't do them unless you are really center heavy. The other surgeon in the practice does two weeks of all liquid before surgery, another week of liquids after and then mushies. Teri
  22. for me it was just ordering a sleep study. I did mine at home. It was easy. teri
  23. I have one, a larger one, but it will be repaired and the band placed the same day. teri
  24. I just saw my surgeon for my last visit preop. I have no special diet I have to be on pre op. I'm totally blown away by that. I do think however I will do a good clean out the day before. i just have to curve my weight regain. I gained 2 pounds today. UGH! teri
  25. I'm a sahm mom too. I have an 11 almost 12 yr old, and twin 2 and a half year olds, boys all of them. I'll be alone after the first day with the twins. Michael can climb up on me. Matthew can't. He's got cerebral palsy. My surgeon said I'd be ok taking care of them, and driving as long as I don't take my pain meds first. stay in touch. teri
