  1. I'm craving something salty... so why not Feta cheese right?? WRONG I've been feeling aweful since, I feel like I'm 19 and hung over... in bed and everytime I move i feel sick. I really thought Feta would be ok since it's a soft cheese... what salty foods curb your salty cravings? I'm 3 weeks post op on soft foods.
  2. I have ground beef daily. I'm still in soft foods so chilli (with beans)and ground beef with fat free gravy is my go to! I've lost 22pds so far. 3 weeks in.
  3. Have you spoken to your surgeon yet? I feel like what you're describing is normal. At 6 weeks they told me I'd be up to a cup of food. So 1 burger patty with sauce, 4-5 chicken strips, 7-8large shrimp. Right now I'm at 3 weeks and can eat 3 tbsp of chilli, 100ml of yogurt and 1/2 a cup of other foods. My nutritionist told me if I'm still hungry after eating 3/4 cup of protein I can add veggies and carbs
  4. I was hungry all the time until this 3rd week. Now I cannot get in 2 snacks and 3 meals. Are you on solids yet? If on soft foods I suggest adding dense proteins to your diet which keeps you full longer (chilli, chicken, ground beef, beans, lentils, hummus). Also only drink 20 min before or after meals. Have you lost weight?
  5. I'm 18 days post op and have lost 20pds. I'm hoping for 30 pds in the first month. Eating 500 calories a day and meeting my 65gr protein goals so far. My fit bit tells me I need to up my step game tho as I'm at 5k steps. Surgery day: 224 Currently:204
  6. So we got anew swim spa this summer... how long until I can get in it again? Staples officially come out tomorrow 15 days post op.
  7. Celebrating a small win! 7 days post Gastric Bypass and 15 pounds/8 inches lighter... since I'm still on a fluid diet I don't seem to be as "swollen " as I normally would be. Wedding ring fits and hasn't in 3 yrs
  8. Completely agree! I'm allowed half a cup and after, I'm still hungry!
  9. Are you in puree stage yet? I get there in one week and a half!! In the meantime I can have soups though. So Ill be trying to make a red lentil and butternut squash soup today! I'm thinking I'll need to head to Wal-Mart sometime today to see if they have pumpkin spice premier protein here in Canada.
  10. I'm in Canada where fall means 40- 50 degree weather and lots of layers!! This is normally our "fattening " season as we put on weight to keep us warm for winter lol! Love the melon ball serving idea ! We used to do ice cream scoops of pureed mash potato and carrots!
  11. Absolutely love soups and stews. Also all sorts of pumpkin dishes
  12. I'm having huge cravings and the only reason I'm not giving into them is because I don't want to hurt my pouch. Just had GBS and I'm looking for alternative liquid/puree options for me to get through my favorite comfort food season!
  13. I'm hoping not much longer. Between hunger pains, incision pain and a bit of gas pain left I'm weak af. My kids are finding me positively useless
  14. 12 hours since surgery and in so much pain!!! I cannot walk due to being extremely sleepy and dizzy. Also, anyone have a hard time peeing post-op? It feels like I'm having to push it out.
  15. Surgery day tomorrow!!!! So excited but extremely nervous. Just has my "last meal" consisting of 4 cups of brocoli and a shake. So over it!
  16. Bypass is on Tuesday (29th). Haven't started packing yet. Staying 2 nights in hospital, What's everyone packing?
  17. Same!!! A week away now and looking forward to the pre-op diet being done! Good luck
  18. Thats my biggest fear in all this !!! Coming home and my entire family eating while I'm drinking shakes and water! Stay strong hopefully it's short lasting
  19. Have you tried protein water or just regular water? Would gravel help nausea?
  20. What do you take for your migraines post-op?
  21. I'm normally prone to migraines but day 3 of this pre-op slim time liquid diet and I can't seem to shake it. Normally ill take a few Advil and my prescription and it will go away but now it's not doing anything. I'm also mindful that I won't be able to take Advil after surgery which is worrying me !
  22. Getting surgery on Sept 29th. Currently on day two of the pre op Slim time diet and migraines have hit me hard! Hopefully this isn't the case after surgery!
