  1. Hello Great Question: How I dealt with the pre op liquid diet was a challenge at the moment that I weighed 305lbs. The first 3 days are the hardest and then your stomach begins to accept that you are doing something different with your eating habits. How did I avoid the hunger? I would go to sleep early and find things to distract me. Look at the bright side, soon you will be going to surgery and your health will improve. That was my driving force. You can do it. What day are you today? May I recommend the Caramel Premier Protein and Vanilla are real good. I can live off them.
  2. Hi there I am so happy that you are feeling well after your surgery last Thursday. Keep up the good work and welcome to the portal site. Missy Cee
  3. Hello May I ask what surgery did you get? Missy cee
  4. Hello Thanks for sharing your challenges. What you are going through is normal. I can relate during the beginning stages but it will get better. But for now, do your best to drink something. Make sure you have water by your side at all times because you do not want to dehydrate. I know that food does not taste good right now and it is normal. Trust me, you will get better. How many weeks Post Op are you? Missy Cee
  5. Hello Welcome and wishing you the best in your surgery. I hope that your pre op liquid diet is going well for you. How has it been? Missy Cee

  7. Hello Carbs are in many different foods, fruits and veggies. It is about eating them with moderation. I try to eat more green leaf veggies that do not have many calories and low in carbs. I can provide a list of them if you would like
  8. To answer your question Yes you can have a very thin piece of cake on a special occassion.
  9. Thank you for the birthday wishes and my weight loss journey.
  10. I agree. I would love to meet someone and built a relationship together but I most importantly want to focus on myself and meet my goal. I feel that dating will not allow me to keep my focus as I am now.
  11. It has been a challenge getting back into the swing of things. I learned that food is the main source in any social gathering. Unfortunately i was unable to keep it to myself being that i have various restrictions and they became displeased with time. How is dating for you?
  12. I agree with the fact that carbs slows down your weight loss. Its important to include some exercise on a weekly basis. I try to go to the gym 3 x a week for 45mins. I donot eat red meat. I do eat fish, chicken, veggies and fruits. But i try to stay away from veggies with high calories
  13. Good Morning, Dumping can come from many different angles but the body feelings you experience (speaking for myself because everyone is different)- I get the shakes, then I sweat and then I am on the toilet for more than 2 times in less than an hour just letting it out. I get mad at myself for .5 seconds because I should have known better and then I make a cup of green tea with some mint leaves and it helps me alot. I hope that my description helps you assess what dumping feels like. Missy
  14. Good Morning, The best advice I can give you is get up and just do it! You have to stay mobile, remaining active is what will shed the pounds off your body. If you need to talk more I am here. Missy

  22. Hello I am sorry but unfortunately speaking from my experiences I can eat minimal carbs. When my son buys a sandwich and my eyes wants some I ask him to give me the butt of the bread so that I can enjoy a little bit and avoid running to the bathroom to purge.
  23. Hello My name is Missy and I have been on my journey since 2009. I started with the Lapband procedure which I spent the longest amount of time from 2009 through 2015. After experiencing an erosion of my stomach in 2015 the band had to be removed and in 2016 my surgeon conducted a revision which is the Gastric Bypass. I was extremely happy at one point in my life because I began to lose weight again. Unfortunately 6 years later I am facing a slow weight loss phase in my life and I am trying to fight from getting where I once was. If anyone is experiencing any of these complications, please share and together we can overcome some of these challenges so that we can remain at our weight or improve our health.
  24. Hello Group! Today is my first day here onsite. I started my lifestyle change on 3/9/2009 when I had my WLS-Lapband. I went through some immediate results but 6 years later I developed an erosion in the mouth of the stomach that caused my tool to be removed. I experienced a rapid weight gain! On April 19 2016, my surgeon revisited my case and I was approved for a revision. We agreed on the Gastric Bypass. The surgery went well. I take my vitamins, eat right etc. On august 16, 2019 I underwent the Panniculectomy surgery which went very well. The recovery process was about a month. I am very happy with the results. Now, what I am currently experiencing is the UPs and Downs of weight loss and weight gain due to the unprecedented times we are experiencing and the challenges we faces each day. In March 2020, I was required to work from home which was great but the exercising has been limited. OMG how I miss the gym... I visited my nutritionist and she recommended I join this website for some guidance, support or even a fruitful tip that can keep me motivated. I do not wish to go backwards, I want to continue losing and I just seem to have lost sight. HELP
