  1. Good idea Emsey, I'll tell her, though I'm sure she'll fight to have the band. Some years back she went for a medical with Virgin Atlantic for cabin crew, and she was supposed to be 5ft 2ins minimum, she got through that lol and worked for them for some years. She couldnt reach the overhead compartments though lol.
  2. Thanx girlies, although I would be much happier if it was a size 12 lol. But I dont think that will ever happen. I dont know who she mailed but the first person said no, she wasnt obese, then she tried again and they didnt even ask her for her bmi, and freddy booked her in, so who knows. I know there is a Doctor Marc who does lapband surgery for people with a low BMI, but she's not booked with him.:crying: maybe it was more expensive I'm not sure. Now I have to read back and list what she has to take with her, as she's just moved and doesnt have her broadband on yet...great!!!!
  3. Thanx Shaz, it wont be long, never fear. Amazed we are flying over to Belgium on 28th, so you should still be there, is your surgery on 27th or is that the day you travel to Belgium?
  4. Amazed......the mail failed, can you please confirm your mail addy again. I did copy and paste though. MD75, brilliant weightloss, I didnt lose that much at first. Some other girls were complaining of hair loss some time ago, not sure when though. You could do a search at the top of the forum for the subject, I'm sure you'll find some answers.
  5. Amazed, i have sent you a piccy, taken a couple of months back, but I've lost more weight since then.
  6. I didnt post a piccy hun, its prolly all the crap I've got as my sig that's showing up on your phone...sorry. Every pic we take I still look BIG, dont know why My daughter is about 11 stone but she's only 5ft 1ins, she fibbed a bit on applying, which has been done before. Her BMI is only about 25 I think. Pooh if you browse the pages in this thread you will find all the information you need chick. Anything specific you need to know, just ask though. When are you going?
  7. Yes hun, my daughters a little worried that Dr Chris wont do the op though, cos she's not heavy enough. What picture do you mean hun?
  8. Woot woot, I now fit into size 16 jeans!!!! They are a bit stretchy, but at least I'm nearing 'normal'
  9. You'll be back before you know it Lou La, good luck sweetheart. Pinkshaz, you poor thing, I hope you'll be feeling better very soon. You'll see that it was worth it babe. Amazed, at last someone who's going the same time as my daughter!!!! Her 'op' is on 29th, I'm going with her, we fly out on Thursday 28th, so hopefully will see you and your Mum there.
  10. You'd think it would be the other way round wouldnt you...weird!!!
  11. Sher where did you go for your fill, cos I go to manchester with Freddyboy and he charges 90 quid
  12. It is Slinx, so many people havent been on for ages :blushing:
  13. SP how nice to see you, and arent you doing well!!!! Brilliant weightloss, I bet you look fab!!! Hope your fills went ok girlies and whomever was getting banded today, hope all goes well. Still nobody for the op on 29th Oct???? :blushing:
  14. My daughters a little worried cos her BMI is only 25, and she's scared Dr Chris wont operate. Did anyone else think they were too light?
  15. Firstly congrats to all you losers!!! Sher dont worry about your first fill, it should be fine, I've found it hurts a little sometimes, but its probably cos my port has turned on its side, so its difficult to get at. Dont expect miracles though until you get to at least your 3rd fill. You maybe one of the lucky ones and get restriction straight away, but that didnt happen for me. I hope this doesnt depress you, but I would rather know the truth, personally, than to feel disappointed later. Try not to worry about it, because the band does work, and you will get to your sweet spot. I'm at mine atm and losing, but like Freddyboy told me I am starting to get Acid Reflux at night again. I may have to get a teardrop out to stop it again, and then get another fill when its been ok for a few weeks. Thanx Slinx, and dont worry about putting weight on, if you havent got restriction, you cant lose it can you, thats why you had your band in the first place. I was up an down like a yo yo at first.
  16. I'm so made up, now I am overweight and not obese !!!
  17. Lyn is that September or October?
  18. lemma1968 have they found your money yet?? You shouldnt have a lot of trouble getting proof...I hope. What an awful thing to happen, I'm so sorry. I'm sure they will get to the bottom of it. Sorry Sammy, havent been on for a while been babysitting every day, and when I get home and make the tea and clean up, I'm falling asleep. You have done so well losing so much weight, you go girl!!! Thanx Slinx for your sweet words, I feel a lot better except , last night I lost my tea, and it wasnt a great deal, just my fave ...curry. I have so much trouble eating anything spicy or hot (curry) these days and I just love curries. Is anyone going to get banded on 29th October? My daughter is going and I'm going with her, I'm really looking forward to it. Though she's worried that I might not be able to find my way back to the hotel on my own, she thinks I'm too old, and get lost easily lol...damn cheek.
  19. hunny, I had my first band at 59, which sadly developed a leak, At 62 I had my second band and I have lost almost 4 stone. I would get it done again if this one failed, best thing I ever did. Dont be put off by people, if you feel the band is right for you, then go for it. Good luck!!:cursing:
  20. Just what I was going to ask, what surgeon and what hospital are you going to Fizz? I only took Neurofen melts and I didnt even need those as they gave me some adult Calpol in the Spire ( Bupa). Also didnt need pjs either as they gave me a gorgeous nighty lol. I was operated on the thursday and travelled home by car on the friday afternoon. All surgeons have different rules.
  21. Have a lovely time Maggs, I am soooo jealous.
  22. Scooby, I endorse what MMm has said...totally, that is exactly the same as I am. Lets be honest here, without meaning to be nasty or to hurt anyones feelings, we all got this way because we overate, some of us, more than others. Our bodies decide on how much we can eat to survive and the surplus is stored as fat, never mind all this calorie counting, which to my mind varies from individual to individual, whereas 1000 calories may be enough to ensure a good weight loss in me, others may only need 800 for weight loss. There is no hard and fast rule, we are all different. I couldnt eat a potato waffle, and maybe I could eat something that others couldnt tolerate. Take plenty of luids and the vitamins, even though its really boring not being able to eat much, you will lose your weight and then try to begin a 'normal' life. me and Mmm were banded at near enough the same time , and are finding it a slow journey, others have lost more than double to what we have, it doesnt seem fair, but we have to struggle on. Be glad that thats all you can eat, after all isnt that why we had our bands? Hang in there girl, you'll be glad once the weight has gone.
  23. Thanx Slinks and Sher, I am all better now, just feel a bit drained, but I spose thats only to be expected. Laila you poor thing, what a dreadful experience for you, I bet you were terrified, I do hope you are resting a lot to get your body back to normal, you obviously need it.
