  1. Maggs on the birth of your darling grandaughter
  2. Scratch that I weighed earlier and have put on nearly 2ibs, dammit!!! Must be the booze, will have to knock that in the head.
  3. So made up for all you losers, brilliant!!! Its a week now since i had my de-fill, at least I can sleep laying down now, which is heaven. I am eating more but not a great deal. havent lost anymore, but then didnt expect to. As long as I stay the same I will be happy. Maggs, any sign of Sian's new baby yet?? Carrie you are so lucky to be able to do your own fills, be careful babe you dont get run down if its too tight. Garry nice to see you.
  4. Thank you Wishfull and Homecare for your sweet words about my grandaughter xxx.
  5. Brilliant stuff Bobo, you have done so so well. btw why havent you got yourself a ticker?
  6. Bless you girls, she is a cutie but then I am biased. Carrie, people always say that dont they, err no...we wouldnt get the band removed to have to start over, silly people duh, its not a magic tool, and its not so easy as people may think as we all know. The delightful thing I find about it is, that we get full so fast, and that is once we've gotten used to it. Even after having 3mls taken out I find I can only eat extrememly small portions, which is brilliant I am loving this band more than life itself. I ate 1 slice of wholemeal toast this morning for brek, and hubby just cooked sausage and black pudding of which I could only manage 2 bites of sausage, that was lunch btw. Maggs the Colonoscopy was very painful, even with the Pethidine and Midazolam. The sister said it was because the surgeon was turning the corner of my colon, hurt like mad. I am relieved to say I dont have any lumps or bumps growing, his diagnosis was Severe Sigmoid Diverticulosis, which I am assured is very common. So glad its all over. I bet you are so excited about Sian's little ball of fluff, I hope she goes on the due date, bless her. Give her my love and I will be thinking of you both, please let us know as soon as the little one is born wont you. xxxx
  7. The best thing to take for your liver is Milk Thistle tablets, most of us on here took them before the surgery, they come highly recommended, in shrinking and cleansing your liver. Also avoid any fatty products, hope thats of some help. A low fat diet is the one to be doing Sherrybabe.
  8. Firstly.... for your kind wishes, I do feel better after having 3mls taken out, and I'm starving cos I havent been able to eat since thursday cos of this Colonoscopy, roll on tonight when it will all be over. Havent got to be at the hospital till 4pm !! Stupid time. My grandaughter is coming on a treat thought I'd share these pics with you. Gabrielle's mum put this hat on her and she hates it, she cries, so I think it must be uncomfortable for her. You can see by the second pic her lip is starting to quiver, just after I had taken this pic she burst into tears God love her lol. I know I've had 2 gastric bands fitted, but this Colonoscopy is just apprehension, fear of the unknown and I am bricking it Maggs , cos I'm a big baby
  9. Bless you Maggs, not sure if i want to know though lol. Ignorance is bliss sometimes. I just want it to be saturday night. Thanx for being so sweet xxxx
  10. I met with the gorgeous freddyboy today and he told me that if he took out 3.5mls i should be ok for my 9 flights. However when he tried to take out that much my port was trying to suck it back in????? he ended up just taking out 3mls. Tonight I ate a salt n pepper chicken wing 2 tablespoonfuls of special fried rice and four chips, with curry, it was wonderful, and afterwards I drank a cup of tea and ate some chocolate gateau, I was in heaven after 3 months of torture. I'm glad really that he has left 3.5 mls in, cos at least I can eat and drink a little without any adverse reactions, and I'm not going to pile the weight that I've lost, back on. Tomorrow and saturday I can only have clear liquids, like black tea/coffee and oxo as at 4pm on Saturday afternoon I am having that darn Colonoscopy. Roll on sunday lol, cos I'm really scared about this thing.
  11. Mia I dont think anyone will insure you babe, my first band developed a leak, and the manufacturer gave me a new band for free, but I still had to pay the surgeon etc, so ended up paying out about £10,000 in total. Not trying to put you off, but apparently, these things can happen and we are warned about them before surgery, however saying that, Dr Chris is a fair person, and I'm sure if I had been banded by him, he would have done my second surgery free of charge . Garry is the one to advise you on this as he had some problems with his band and i dont believe he was out of pocket to have the op re-done.
  12. Glad you girlies are all doing well. I am looking forward to Thursday when I get my de-fill, but scared also, I just dont want to put any weight on before I go away. I will have to be so careful cos my holiday clothes wont fit if I put any on lol. Carrie I bet you look gorgeous with your new 'do' are you finding staying at your ideal weight hard or have you still got good restriction? Wishfull, have you decided whether you're going to see freddyboy next thursday? Hope everyones ok, and yes I agree where are all the other members we miss you guys!!!!
  13. Ah thanx babe, just reached the 3stone mark today, am over the moon!!! I am going to only leave 2mls in for when I go away cos I want to at least be able to eat a bit and have some drinks lol, being as its free bar on the flight. What were those shoes called that you wear, I have searched back and cant find the name. Thanx chick xx
  14. Hya Debby, Wendy is part of WLS and nothing to do with Dr Chris and Frederik, but I believe they have had meetings and Dr Chris is in agreement for his patients to have fills done by WLS. A lot of the peeps on here go to Wendy and love her, as she is excellent. Thats not to say Freddy boy isnt, cos I've been to him twice and he's a sweetie, in fact I am having a de-fill with him next Thursday, and I wasnt banded by Dr Chris. Someone who knows more about Wendy will no doubt answer your questions more fully than I can. If your port area is not too sore, I would go for your first fill as they dont put in that much, only about 2 or 3 mls. i'm the one who's going to Oz on 31st October (well 8th November actually, cos we are staying in the far east for a week first)
  15. Hi Wishful, nice to see you chick, thanx for the good wishes xxx How's your daughter, and also hows your weightloss going? Parrot, thanx for your kind wishes also,Mum will be going back into the carehome that she likes whilst we are away. I know it will be a long time for her, but she does like all the staff and this time she can walk around a bit, so not confined to her room like last time.
  16. Do you mean a ticker for your weight progress or just to have the date of your op? If its the latter you need to just add the text to where it says EDIT signature in the User CP (control Panel) top right. Just write what you want in the box that shows and then hit 'save signature' Hope that helps. If its the ticker you want go to Graphical Tickers and Trackers: Weight Loss, Trying To Conceive, Pregnancy... its pretty much self-explanatory. Good luck Tanyac
  17. thereikiroom where did you find that post from Jiggy, cos she says 2008? Was it at the begining of the thread? Sorry I dont have time to look back. I dont seem to have lost any weight at all this week, and I've thrown up nearly everything I have eaten.... think my body is in denial.
  18. Thanx Fatpants, I know exactly what you mean about the fizzy drink on top of a full tum, it scared me to death, and the first time it was awful, I thought I was going to faint, but it works, and now I look forward to it. My Mum came home for good on Monday and she's settling in nicely. We have a carer who comes in every morning to give her a shower, and things are really looking up, she seems to be walking, albeit slowly, a lot better cos at one time she couldnt even weight bear, thanx for asking xxx. Hi Debby, firstly i am so very sorry about your bad news and pray everything will work out for you both. Your pain may be wind a lot of us got it after surgery, mine was sorted out with Remegel, but i know some ladies suffered for a long time. How funny you are going to Oz a couple of days before me, but how lucky are you that you are staying for 6 weeks!!!! I hope you get to go anyway. Where in Oz are you going? I am going to Broadbeach on the Gold Coast, but am doing a bit of the far east first, we fly to the Gold Coast on 8th November from Kuala Lumpar. My band is so tight I can hardly eat anything again, so am having a de-fill on 8th October with Freddyboy. But being as you havent long been banded you will prolly be fine with having a bit in.
  19. Hi Chapamar, nice to meet you, all the way from the USA!!! Gillian have a fab holiday hunny, nice to see you again. Lynxie, I had pain and tenderness in my port area for a long time, maybe 5/6 weeks, and sometimes it does get tender even now. Fatpants, what I have started doing when I have that horrid feeling in my chest is drinking something fizzy, like diet coke or soda water, if there is something that needs to come up, this always does it for me, and if its only wind, which I find hard to get up, it brings that up. Just a little tip, which works for me. When I had my first band and flew long haul, I couldnt eat hardly anything for the whole 2 weeks, my band was so tight, but I didnt feel hungry but was drooling watching the others tuck into their lovely meals, not nice. I am hoping that Freddy boy will take out 4 and half mls for me as I have 6 and half in now, and still have acid reflux most nights as we go to the far east and Oz in 5 weeks, and I have to be able to eat and sleep and we are doing a lot of flights. My appointment is on 8th October, I cant wait!!!! I have been taking Zantac which work great for me most of the time, for the acid. Fatpants enjoy your holiday girl!!
  20. Anita, I am shocked and disgusted with your GP's attitude toward you, she needs to be reported. Whatever her personal views, they should be kept private, she is there to help you as her patient. How dare she judge you! Nasty woman. You need support and kindness at this time, I think I would change my doctor, you dont have to put up with that. Thanx Homecare for your kind words xx
  21. Krystle...brilliant!!! read back a few pages cos there is a list of stuff to take with you. posted by some sweet soul. Homecare you are doing great, and you too Shoes and Fatpants. Wishfull my Mum came home for good yesterday so have been busy trying to get her into some sort of routine, bless she tries so hard. Speak soon girlies, and sorry if I've missed anyone, dont have a lot of time at the mo xxxxxx
  22. Ahh Homecare that sounds like you're nearly there. Well done!!!
  23. Carrie have a fabulous time hunny xxx. Kaka WOW!!! Good luck sweetie. Let us know how you are doing afterwards. Time is now, yes Maggs, I would agree, dont beat yourself up over what you've eaten, its over and done with, just try to be good lol. Like we all are !!!! I dont have much choice, I tried to eat a few Celebrations yesterday but felt so sick after 2 I had to stop. Today a mug of hot Oxo is not going down well, and I just made a beautiful saucepan of Scouse and its smells divine, but none for me for a few hours.
