  1. The weight for me, has been pretty slow coming off. Average is 2 lbs. per week so it's not that noticable. Those people whom I have not seen for a long time do notice, but not those on a daily basis. I do the same though if/when anyone asks....I'M DIETING! I was banded July 3rd and just had my 3rd fill last Friday. That's the first restriction I;ve felt so far. I don't feel like I'm there yet though. I'm also from Utah. Where did you have your surgery? I had mine at So Valley by Dr. Alldredge.

I was banded on July 3rd, '08. Have lost about 17lbs. including preop. I've had 2 fills and last week I had gained 2 lbs. I am very frustrated also. Sometimes I feel like I paid a whole lot of $$$'s for a diet! I know the band is "just a tool", but I don't feel any restriction. Sometimes I think my doc forgot to put it in (lol). The RN who does my fills says it sometimes takes 6 - 8 fills with my kind of band, so hopefully I'll get there eventually. Until then, I'll try to keep on dieting as usual.
  3. THANK YOU!!!! I so appreciate reading such a positive story! It seems most only share negative stories, and since I've paid my $$$ and am awaiting surgery on July 2nd, I really needed to hear this from you. My feet have been getting colder and colder by the day, but now I'm feeling a bit better! Congratulations on your great accomplishment. I hope to be one of the success stories like you!
  4. This is my first time posting although I've been here for a really long time! I really appreciate everyone's willingness to put so much info out there. It really helped me make the decision to "just do it"! I'm all set for July 3rd and went to my last education class last night. I'm self-pay and putting that initial $6,000.00 on the table was pretty scary. Told the receptionist that was a pretty hefty "co-pay! " Anyway, just wanted to say hi and I'll keep reading all about ya. Thanks again!
