  1. I was just banded on Monday, but I am still feeling hungry, maybe its all in my head since I know its off limits!
  2. Wow! Thats amazing! I am acutally up 4 lbs from surgery . Hard to blieve since I can only eat clear liquids!
  3. I got a call today from my Surgeon's office to set up the info appointment. The place Tricare referred me to is 120 miles away. Well I asked the lady how many appointments I would need before the surgery, she said just the info session and the 1 pre op appointment . I thought you needed to go on a 6 month diet or something. I am trying to get in somewhere closer but I would really love to get the surgery sooner rather then later, know what I mean? Is it really this easy to get approved through tricare?
  4. I go for my first appointment on the June 2. Hopefully I will get approval so I can actually start the process!
  5. ((HUGS)) And that is exactly why I will not be telling my mom about this surgery! Some people just don't understand. I honestly believe my mom thinks I like being fat. She wont say anything to me but if we are out and see a large person she will be the first one to snicker. I just don't get how she could be so careless.
  6. I can so relate to you! I have no answers for you because I am just now looking into Lap Band. I also have 3 kids, not triplets, but pretty close in age, 1, 2, and 4. I want to live a very long and healthy life so I can see my sweet baby boys grow up to be men! Good luck and I hope you find the answers you are looking for!
  7. I am so sorry that you are going through this. I really don't understand why the insurance companies can't see that this is going to SAVE them a lot of money in the long run. I am afraid that I will not be 'big" enough to get approved. If I am not approved I think I will seriously consider paying out of pocket. Is my life worth 15K to me? Heck yeah. I have no idea how long the pre op diet will last if I am approved. What happens if you lose 20-30 lbs and you are no longer 100 lbs over weight? Can they deny you after you have been approved? I think I still have a lot of red tape to go through before getting approve, but I sure as heck don't want to get approved only to be let down in the end. KWIM? We are stationed at Kings Bay Sub Base. I know that they proform this surgery at NAS JAX so my fingers are crossed that I will get an appointment there very soon!
  8. Thank you for telling me your story! I am the exact same way about buying clothes. I have like 10 of the same in different colors because the tag says XL and I can still fit into them. I really hope I can get approved for this. Even if my insurance does not cover it I think I will still get it done. Thanks again!
  9. Hi everyone, I'm Jaime a 31 year old mother of 3 boys. I am at my breaking point after YEARS of yo yo dieting I NEED to do something before it is to late. I am currently at my heaviest 240 :scared2: and I am only 5' 3". My DH is in the Navy and I just recently found out that Tricare approved this surgery as long as you were double your healthy weight. Well I am. I have my first appointment on June 2nd. Hopefully they will get me scheduled for surgery by Fall. Wishfull thinking maybe, but we will see. I am sick and tired of being fat. I almost cant wear the seatbelts on the rides at Disney. I am so ashamed of myself. I don't want to be skinny, just normal. I can't even wear shorts anymore because I am disgusted with my fat legs. Other then the hospital pictures of my with my babies I have no pictures with (or without) my kids. How did I get to this point? I am hoping this will be my way out. Thanks for listening. At least I you all know how I am feeling right now!
