    Anyone for October 2020?

Sounds very similar to me. I started at 233 now at 189. I stall for weeks and wooosh, 5 lbs comes off. I have gotten a little too lazy with tracking my calories and water intake. Working on getting back on track. I have been getting a little more active but its time to start kicking it up a notch. My hair loss seems to have stopped. Going to keep the short hair cut even if the thickness comes back. I have my checkup with the surgeon tomorrow. Glad to hear you are doing well.

    Anyone for October 2020?

I am 16 days and 14 lbs too! I started at 233. I think we are in the middle as far as weight loss goes. I've seen people lose more and less. I am happy with the 14 lbs as long as it continues! When you think about it, its almost 1 lbs a day, kinda crazy.

    Anyone for October 2020?

Same here. I have been lazy on tracking and I think I have been over estimating the amount of fluids I am drinking a day. Working on that today. I was sleeved on the 14th, I can try puree tomorrow. Not sure how that's going to go.

    Anyone for October 2020?

Had my surgery on Wednesday. Had a hard time with vomiting after and it lasted until Thursday afternoon. Most likely a reaction to the anesthesia. Once that subsided it hasn't been too bad. I stayed an extra night in the hospital since I couldn't keep anything down. Today I feel fine just incision site pain. Not sleeping great since I can't sleep on my side. I am able to keep liquids down fine and was able to drink 1 protein shake yesterday. It gets easier every day.

    Aetna - Approved!

I switched to Aetna starting 9/1/20 since I was denied by IBX (after they said it would be covered). I got the call this morning that I am approved already! My surgeons office submitted the paperwork on Friday. I did Optifast for the dietician appointments so I could get the 12 appointments in 3 months instead of 6 months. My surgery date is October 14! 7 months later than expected but finally happening!

    Anyone for October 2020?

I hear ya! I am on protein shakes and 2 egg whites a day. The first 3 days were the worst. I ended up taking off one day because I felt so tired. I am on day 6 now and feel much better. I run out of energy by the evening but during the day I feel pretty good.

    Switching Insurance

Anyone have any experience with switching insurance during the process? I have IBX, went through the whole process and found out I was not covered when it came to surgery time. I am switching to Aetna, which starts Sept 1st. I am currently doing Optifast and meeting with a dietitian to hit the 12 dietitian meeting requirement. I have a few concerns... 1. When Aetna kicks in I will have all the requirements done (Aetnas requirements). Do you think they will make me do them again? 2. I could be below the 40 bmi by then, will they take my initial weight from last year when I started the process or my current weight. (I have no other health issues) Just feel like something is going to go wrong. I just want the surgery to be done! Anyone have any experience with switching insurance companies?

    Denied

I called my insurance company IBC PPO back in August, they sent me a copy of the bariatric policy. BMI over 40, weight loss attemps, etc. This is for it to be covered under medically necessary. Is the what everyone else used or does everyone else have a bariatric rider? The surgeons office said I was denied because I do not have coverage. I had to call the insurance company 4 times before I found someone who referred me back to the policy I was sent in August. I am so confused. I have been on the phone all day! Curious if anyone else got the same run around. Fingers crossed I hear good news soon. Hoping I don't have to pay out of pocket.

    Denied

It turned out my employers plan specifically excluded the surgery. When I called IBX to check if I had coverage, they said yes. So I wasted a lot of $ in copays and time for a procedure I was not covered for. I appealed 3 times, lost each time. Just switched to my husbands insurance. That starts in September. Fingers crossed I don't get screwed again!

    Denied

Denied again. Now I have to do a members appeal, 30-45 days. They are still saying I don't have coverage even though every time I call to talk to customer service they say I do.

    Denied

Its a small company, I am part of the HR department, lol. Our brokers aren't terribly helpful. I will reach out to them next if I get denied again. Still waiting for an answer since it was resubmitted by my surgeons office. I am on the phone an hour every morning making sure it moves along. So frustrating.

    Denied

Insurance is still telling me I am covered if its deemed medically necessary. They said to have the surgeons office appeal. The surgeons office is telling me to do a members appeal. Ugh, so frustrating.

    Denied

I called back on August 12th and the insurance company sent me a copy of a policy. According to that policy I met all the criteria. The past 5 months I have done all the requirements from the surgeon, cardiologist, sleep study, psych eval, endoscopy, and bloodwork. They submitted it to insurance, denied. From what the surgeons office found out is that my specific group # does not include that policy. On hold right now to file a members appeal. Not too hopeful. Seems like I will be stuck paying out of pocket.
