  1. I will be 5 weeks post-op tomorrow, and I am supposed to be adding a greater variety of foods to my diet, and eventually, increasing my calories. I am finding that it is becoming more and more difficult to eat. I eat either yogurt or cottage cheese for breakfast (1.5 ounces), and then something either mid afternoon or very early evening - again, 1.5 ounces. If I take even one additional bite, I have 2-3 hours of nausea. I do have my protein drinks, but I don't think I'm getting more than about 500 calories a day. My weight has also been stalled for two weeks. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions will be gratefully received. Thanks so much.

    2nd day post op

Hi Lisa - I started with the Raspberry flavor of Premier Protein water right after my surgery. It wasn't bad, but was very sweet. I'm now on the Peach flavor, and I'm finding it much more palatable. I haven't tried the Fruit Punch yet, but that will be next. It makes a nice change from the shakes, and gives variety to your water intake (not forgetting Crystal Lite). I order it from Amazon, and it keeps the price down. Best of luck on your upcoming surgery!
  3. I am beginning the fourth week of my three week stall. I am six weeks post op, and while I know the stall will eventually break, it is really discouraging while it's going on. It's helpful to read about other people's experiences, and to know I'm not doing anything wrong - it's my body fighting back....I mean, adjusting. 🙂
  4. Congratulations!! You're doing so well, and you look amazing!!
  5. Hmmmm...but then you would need enough to go around for the entire operating room staff...

    Difficulty eating

    Thank you - everyone's responses help a lot. 🙂
  7. Ha! I just read your goal. I asked my surgeon if he had his coffee the morning of surgery; he told me he had, and a good night's sleep, as well.

    Difficulty eating

JTSC - Are you finding that it is almost physically impossible to eat at times?

    Difficulty eating

Thank you so much for your thoughts. It is reassuring to know that it happens to others, as well. I keep forgetting about the leftover swelling from the surgery; that's a good point. The three-week stall - yikes! I'll be glad when that part is behind me!!
