Can anyone tell me where to find some statistics on long term lapbanders? I would like to know if in 10 years these people have kept their weight off and the band on.

Do you banders have as much energy with the band and eating a cup of food a day as you did before the band eating 3 full plus meals?

Surgery in Mexico-Prescriptions in the US?
What if we have surgery in Mexico, return to the U.S., and need a prescription like something for esophageal spasms? How would we get the medicine?

What do you do at social events?
I am wondering what you do at a social event, such as holidays or eating out with friends and family. What can we do? Can we eat before the event and then just drink water the whole time during the event?

Not exactly. I think it is a lot more intense than what you are experiencing. I don't know if it happens with the lapband. Are you happy with your lapband?

Gaining weight after lapband surgery
Can you gain weight if you have had lapband surgery? I don't see how this would be possible if you have the proper restriction.

Is stricture common with the lapband, or does that mainly happen with gastric bypass surgery?

Is the only time you really have to worry about dehydration right after the surgery or is this a constant problem?

Less than 100 pounds to lose
I have less than 100 pounds to lose, comorbidities not that bad, Dr. won't recommend the lapband to my insurance. My insurance doesn't cover it anyway. I wonder if I am taking too drastic of a step making a fairly permanent change to my body and lifestyle. Does anyone else feel like this?

So, when you say "it will either go down or come up" does that mean it will come back up your esophagus, or come back up your stomach to your pouch, or something else?

Can anyone tell me if getting stuck is dangerous? Can you choke to death like some people do when they get a grape or hotdog stuck in their esophagus? Thank you for your replies.

Volumetric Incentive Spirometer
It is to help you breathe better after surgery. It was recommended in my surgery packet. Just wondering if anybody has used it, and if it helped.
