Do most people get better fills with fluoroscopy than without it, or is it the same?

Just wondering - you who've had surgery at the OCC - did they do general anesthesia or IV sedation?

What do you do when you used to turn to food for comfort? What do you eat when you want chocolate or something salty?

Is there anybody in Albuquerque whose had the lapband that I can speak with?

The OCC August 12th, and getting really cold feet.

Would you all recommend having U.S. dollars exchanged in the U.S. before you go to Mexico, or do it there in Mexico, or is it even necessary?

Can anyone tell me where to find some statistics on long term lapbanders? I would like to know if in 10 years these people have kept their weight off and the band on.

Do you banders have as much energy with the band and eating a cup of food a day as you did before the band eating 3 full plus meals?

What if we have surgery in Mexico, return to the U.S., and need a prescription like something for esophageal spasms? How would we get the medicine?

I am wondering what you do at a social event, such as holidays or eating out with friends and family. What can we do? Can we eat before the event and then just drink water the whole time during the event?

I am still reading and thinking about the lapband. I was so positive about doing it, but the more I read the more chicken I get.

Not exactly. I think it is a lot more intense than what you are experiencing. I don't know if it happens with the lapband. Are you happy with your lapband?

Can you gain weight if you have had lapband surgery? I don't see how this would be possible if you have the proper restriction.

Does anyone get spasms in the legs? I believe it's called tetany.

Is stricture common with the lapband, or does that mainly happen with gastric bypass surgery?

Is the only time you really have to worry about dehydration right after the surgery or is this a constant problem?

I have less than 100 pounds to lose, comorbidities not that bad, Dr. won't recommend the lapband to my insurance. My insurance doesn't cover it anyway. I wonder if I am taking too drastic of a step making a fairly permanent change to my body and lifestyle. Does anyone else feel like this?

Does anyone have a suggestion for swallowing those big calcium pills?

So, when you say "it will either go down or come up" does that mean it will come back up your esophagus, or come back up your stomach to your pouch, or something else?

Can anyone tell me if getting stuck is dangerous? Can you choke to death like some people do when they get a grape or hotdog stuck in their esophagus? Thank you for your replies.

It is to help you breathe better after surgery. It was recommended in my surgery packet. Just wondering if anybody has used it, and if it helped.
