  1. Here to second the Baritastic app. I also use an Apple watch and Health Mate scale. Both of these I have connected to my Baritastic app.
  2. My doctor has recommend avoiding pasta because it is really filling. Sounds like the pasta salad and steak are not a regular part of your current diet. What are you eating regularly?
  3. I have not had Herbalife shakes. I have been using Premier Protein and get them at Sam's Club which seems to have the best price in my area and less than Amazon. It has 30g of protein per serving and only 1g of sugar.
  4. We've all had surgery now! How is everyone doing? I had surgery on 10/18 and head back to work tomorrow. I have been pleasantly surprised by how well everything has gone. This upcoming week at work is very busy so I"ll see what it is like to get back in the full swing of things. I work in an office causal environment and have been surprised that a lot of pre-surgery clothes are getting to a point where they look a little sloppy because they're very baggy. What strategies do you have to deal with wardrobe? I have leggings and ponte pants and some dresses but not enough to bridge the gap.
  5. Hello all! I had my RNY on 10/18. I have been pleasantly surprised by my recovery. The weekend of surgery there was soreness of course, but by Tuesday I was relatively pain-free. My twin sister also had a RNY, but 2 years before I did.I was concerned about nausea but didn't experience any. I think I didn't because of the way my doctor did my leak test vs. the way hers did. I went to the farmers market with my family this morning and had no problems getting around. I hope everyone is doing well on their journey.
  6. Hi all. One week until surgery! Hard to believe it is almost here. Just staying focused and making sure I have laid the foundation for success. Prepping my pantry and starting to organize my items for the hospital.
  7. Hello. What have you found, in addition to this site, to be a valuable resource? Any favorite Instagram accounts or Facebook groups? Any preferred tracking apps? Any great cookbooks?
  8. My surgery is scheduled for 10/18! It feels even more real now.
  9. I am anticipating a surgery date in mid to late October. Getting final insurance approval hopefully this week.
  10. Hello! Let me introduce myself. I am a mother and wife living in the Metro Detroit area. I have struggled with my weight for the majority of my life. I have had difficulty losing more than 30 pounds and maintaining the loss. Both my mother and sister have had gastric bypass surgery and have had great success. I joined this community to connect with others who will, or have been, through gastric bypass surgery. I just had my consent appointment and am waiting on final insurance approval before I receive my surgery date which is anticipated to be at the of October. If you have any tips or hints you wish you had heard before surgery I'd love to hear them!
