  1. I had mine at 69, and just had the regular supplements that everyone has ands have had no problems.
  2. I was told coffee was fine in moderation , just don’t over do it because caffeine dehydrates you if you have too much .
  3. I tend to think that if it doesn’t work , the patient hasn’t followed the plan iproperly. I can’t see how it can’t , when you’ve got such a small stomach. I can see that further down the road, we can gradually start to be able to eat more , and could mess it up by eating too much stretching the stomach , I know someone who did just that , but it’s a tool to help us , not a magic cure to allow us to eat what and how much we want ,and not put on weight . We have to do some of the work ourselves too! As long as you’re careful and do as they say , you should be fine It’s not always a walk in the park ,but the results are well worth it . I wish you well .
  4. Thank you so much Catwoman .Artificial sweeteners have never affected me before - At least I don’t remember them having done , but I have to say , Im not a fan of them , and try to look for ‘safe’ ones , but are any. of them? Im almost afraid to put anything in my mouth after being so ill before and over Christmas, and have no appetite whatsoever, but I know I need to eat somehow . I’m trying find things that will tempt me and have a bit of nutritional value. Not easy !
  5. Thank you Rick. Didn’t think of that . Would you have to have an excessive amount ?
  6. thank you ❤️
  7. I had no nausea at all , and felt ok from day 1, and because of my age , and medical history , the surgeon said I was a bit of a risky case , but I was fine after my surgery . As long as you do as they tell you, you should be fine . We can’t generalise because everybody is different of course . I wish you all the best on your journey . ?
  8. thank you cat woman ❤️
  9. Can it do the stomach and harm by eating a lot of sugarfree popsicles ?
  10. Thank you Orchid. And they’re ok for us to take ? I’m 4 months post op
  11. I’m scared to take more stuff , do the probiotics make a difference ?
  12. Yes , that seems a bit tough . I guess we’re lucky to get it on the NHS, and shouldn’t take it for granted , but we could possibly lose that with the new government . I hope you do ok and can get your vitamins . Good luck .
  13. As long as you’re sensible and follow what they tell you , there’s no reason why you should have complications. Of course , none of us can predict what can or can’t happen , even if you follow the diet and rules to the letter, you could still get complications that aren’t your fault, but the key is to make good food choices and excercise , and of course , keep to the golden rules! I read and researched everything I could . I wish you every success on your journey ?
  14. wow Steve !! Well done! You must be SO proud of yourself ....and you should be !
  15. It will definitely work! You won’t have any appetite at first , and a very small one after that. You won’t physically be ABLE to eat anything other than tiny portions, and if you forced yourself , you’d have very unpleasant results ! I know people can mess it up and start eating badly again further down the road, thus stretching their new stomach , and putting on weight , but this is a tool to help us, and it does ! I was the worlds worst eater, but I have no desire to eat like that anymore , and there are alternatives that we can have out there. I find I may want something momentarily when I see it , but it’s short lived .Hope this helps . I wish you well with your journey ?
  16. Hi Superman ? I was prescribed Iron, Calcium,a multivitamin, another multi vitamin to take weekly, and B12 injections once every 3 months . I didnt have to pay anything . I was sent home with the initial months supply and then got them on prescription, but Iam in the UK, It may be different where you are .
  17. wow Orchid ! That was lucky . I’m scared to eat anything at the moment because I was really ill with stomach and back pains , severe diarreoh , and vomiting .. I was given antibiotics for a uti, and think it was those that made me vomit , and diarreoh. Now I’m scared, to eat solid food, and didn’t eat anything for 2days , was scared even to take vitamins on an empty stomach , just had water, I felt awful yesterday and progressed to thin soup with turkey for protein, and having protein shakes and taking vitamins now. Because it was over Christmas, I couldn’t get to speak. to the Bariactric Team.Had anyone else experienced anything like this ?
  18. Thank you Rick . That’s so helpful ? I am 4 months post op and I know it’s different for everyone ,but didn’t know if it’s normal to still be sipping or not. Thanks again .
  19. thank you , Orchid . That puts my mind at rest . How long do we have to sip for ? iHow we know when it ok to drink normally ?
  20. I am always thirsty , so am sipping drink and sugarfree ice pops all day all the time, can I do too much of this ?
  21. I find the Cafe Latte Slimfast protein shakes make you feel just like you’ve had coffee, and helps to up your protein intake . I do drink de caff coffee too but not a lot . It’s always been on the paperwork I was given from the hospital as a can have .
  22. Lots of people feel the cold more when they’ve lost weight . I NEVER felt the cold and hardly ever wore jumpers even in winter , but was suddenly going out buying big thick warm jumpers .
  23. Thank you mousecat . I did think it was a stomach bug at first , but I’m not sure . Im going back to liquids and then soft food for a bit . I’ll talk to the hospital asap though . Thank you for info on the Vitamins . ❤️
  24. Thank you catwoman ,may be that so I’ll remember that .
