  1. I have a question for anybody who can help. I was banded 12-15-08 and in the first four to six weeks I lost about 15 pounds. I did feel I needed a fill because I felt no restriction after the swelling of the surgery went down. I had a fill on February 13th which helped for a few days, then I was feeling no restriction again. Consequently I went last week and had a third fill. The doctor was surprised that when he looked at the fluroscopy because the first fill had been generous and I didn't show much restriction. He briefly mentioned sometimes they leak ~ which totally freaks me out. I guess I felt restriction but now I am wondering if that is what I am feeling. The only thing I feel is like when I swallow the bites are too big, which they aren't, and I can feel them going down, which I am now wondering if I am feeling stuff go through the banded area? Is that what "restriction" feels like?? I need to get this figured out because I feel I am just wasting my time as I have only lost 16 pounds so far! Thanks for listening, I hope to hear from some of you about my question.
  2. Hi, I was banded on Dec 15th too. The pain was more than I anticipated but getting better everyday. I was planning on going to work on Monday ~ is that realistic? Cheryl
  3. Hi Dottie, I live in Sheridan and had my surgery yesterday with Dr. Parnell in Cheyenne. Congrats for your weight loss, I am a little sore and tired but doing great. Do you have any suggestions on how to get Protein in while on the clear liquid diet? Thanks, Cheryl
  4. Just got the news on Thursday that my banding is scheduled for December 15th!! I am really excited and a little scared, but I think the excitement wins!! I need to get more savy about my signature line, etc. Need to take some time to get it all set up now. Was kind of nervous about jinxing myself before I was approved by my insurance. Look forward to seeing everybody's progress! :grouphug:
  5. Good to hear from other Wyomingites! I have an appointment in Cheyenne on November 3rd. I am driving, or flying, depending on the weather, probably on Sunday. Maybe we could try to set something up for then? What do you think?? It will be my final appt , then to the insurance for approval. Hopefully have the surgery in Cheyenne before the end of the year!! :cool2: Cheryl
  6. That is great ~ I can't wait until I am that point. Not too worried about December, I am so tired of being fat and trying to fit into too tight clothes, I will be glad!! I am getting banded in Cheyenne, how far is that from Evanston?
  7. Good to hear from you, we are close ~ well as close as it gets in Wyoming! My August appt went well, I am working on all the goals they have given me. This month I am supposed to try to drink 80 oz of water and practice not drinking with meals or 30 minutes after. I am getting excited, really hoping it will happen before the end of the year. My last appt is Nov 3 and then it goes to insurance for approval, if that doesn't take too long they can schedule. Of course December is a bad month with the Holidays but I am optomistic. Talk to you later ~ keep in touch! Cheryl
  8. Thanks! I appreciate the help, I'm new to the website (kinda) so I need to find that thread.
  9. I did check and my center is considered a "center of excellence" according to Medicare. I hope their approval process is quick because my last 6 month appt is in November and I hope to get it done before the end of the year ~ I can't wait!
  10. I had my second transplant in April of 06, my first transplant from my mom lasted 32 years! Anyway, as I am "older" now weight has become a big issue (no pun intended) with the Prednisone, antidepressant and restless leg meds I have gained 50 pounds As I am still on Medicare because of the transplant I was wondering if anybody has gone through the process with Medicare and if there were any out-of-pocket expenses and how long it took Medicare to approve after completion of the 6 month period? Thanks! Cheryl
  11. Medicare?? I have Medicare coverage because of end stage renal disease, I had a transplant in April of 2006. Medicare does cover but I was wondering what exactly "cover" means. Will there be uncovered expenses? I am still in my six month medical supervision, hope to be banded before the end of the year. I wish it were tomorrow!! I would appreciate any responses regarding experiences with Medicare. Thanks! This site is great!!
  12. I live in Sheridan, have been through Star Valley, beautiful! Pretty nice her too though with the Big Horn Mountains here. I have my 3rd appt the 18th of August. I am hoping to have surgery by the end of the year. I have started exercising ~ finally, it was my "goal" for this month from my last appt. How is it going for you? I need some encouragement that this is going to be worth the process ~ not to mention the gas!! Looking forward to your reply.
  13. I am from Sheridan and have started my approval process with Dr. Parnell's office in Cheyenne. Had my first appointment last week. I saw somebody post who had surgery with her as well, I am wondering how you are doing and if you experience there was a good one. I am doing my pre appointments in Casper as they have a clinic there as well, but to Cheyenne for my surgery. It stinks I have to go through 6 months medical supervision, I am ready to do it tomorrow! Look forward to hearing from other Wyomingites!
  14. Hi, I am also a Medicare patient, the center I am going to said that a couple of patients had said that the requirements for the medically supervised portion has changed from six months to three months. The center is unable to confirm this with Medicare ~ do you know or can you ask your center about that particular requirement? Thanks!
