  1. My doc told me at my six week fill that if I HAD to tan, it was okay.
  2. I have absolutely no regrets either. I've not had any problems at all. However, I can't swallow chicken breast. Thigh meat is a little better but not much. I would definitely recommend this surgery to anybody that needs it.
  3. Had the liquid chili dog and it was pretty dang yummy! I was banded on 5/20. I had a small piece of prime rib on Saturday night at a wedding reception and it was the best thing I've ever eaten. I'm pretty much eating whatever I want now. I feel great and I'm 20.5+ down. I wish you the best but I was approved until many months after my psych eval.
  4. Thank you so much!! I agree wholeheartedly. From reading different posts, it looks like just about every doctor and program is different. Some docs don't have a pre-op diet, mine had a very strict 8 day pre-opo diet. I stuck with it...not one bite of food passed my lips for 8 days. I thought that the pureed phase wouldn't be so bad but it was. When I read that I could add tuna, I was in heaven!
  5. How do I get the cute little ticker on my replies? By the way, congrats!! I was banded on 5/20 and I'm 14 lbs down.
  6. My doc said that it was mainly a problem of swallowing the gum. If that happened, you're back to surgery. I've heard that gum is an appetite stimulant though.
  7. I felt the same way. I was banded on 5/20 and I've been hungry since the 3rd day after surgery. I'm eating solid food, chewing it very well and have tolerated this fine....until tonight. I grilled a marinate chicken breast and I just couldn't swallow it. It wasn't really dry...don't know what was going on. Tuna salad and chicken salad go down easily. Had some ribs Saturday night and they went down easily. Everybody has different tolerances. I'm tolerating things fine but I'm not staying full.
  8. Good Luck to you both!! I'm scheduled for 5/20. Got 3 more days of Carnation Instant Breakfast and broth. ): But, I can do it....you guys did it!!! Let me know how it goes. Happy thoughts are with you!
  9. I might try the McCormik soup. I would not tell them about the cheating!! The might postpone your band. I made it through last night. I went to dinner with some visiting managers and there was a nice salad at my seat. Gave it to the server and my can of broth. Then, I came back from the restroom and found a LOVELY rare prime rib, chicken breast, roasted potatoes and green Beans. Gave it back to the server and he brought my broth. Took the plate home and cut it up for my pit bull and did not take a bite. That was the hardest thing that I have ever done.
  10. I thought about eating a cracker last night but didn't. I don't mind the skim milk but prefer 2%. I'm having dinner with some visiting managers here at work tonight. The restaurant (it's a murder/mystery dinner theatre) said that they would be so kind as to heat up my chicken broth. I really don't look forward to this. But, tomorrow is my 4th day and I'm half-way thru. Your surgery is on Friday? Wanna swap places?
  11. Trust me, it ain't all that. It might be pretty good with something beside skim milk.

That's what I'll do! Anything to get the pain in the feet and knees gone....and look good too!
  13. I would kill for some soup! My doc is very strict and it's 6 Sugar Free Carnation Instant Breakfasts per day and at least 48 oz of liquid along with it. I thought that I could handle just about anything but I'm ready to eat my arm!
  14. I'm on Day 3 of my 8 day liquid diet and I'm ready to eat my arm. I did have some fat free chicken broth last night and it was heavenly. My dietitian said that I could have 1 South Beach Tide Me Over mixes per day. Trust me, it's not very filling but it does taste great! I feel your pain!

I'm in Day 3 of my liquid diet. My surgery is 5/20....not sure if I'm going to make it. I'm cold and it's 78 here in Nashville. I keep telling myself that nothing tastes as good as being thin.
