  1. all I know is when I got my first fill four week ago, I just about passed out. The doctor told me it was because the Vegus nerve had pressure on it., is the reason I got so dizzy. Had to look it up - but it really did a number on me. Had a second fill this week with no problems.
  2. I was banded 6 May by Dr. Schuartz. Really didn't know there were other doc's doing banding in AZ. The surgery went OK, but when I went to post-op appt, I was surprised to find out I don't go back to see him unless there is a problem. Go for my first fill the second week of June to a fill center off of Kolb. I am one of those people that need my hand held, felt like he said "wham bam, thank you ma'm'. I am in Benson, was interested in your support group in Tucson. Do they just meet in the morning? I work at Ft Huachuca. Good luck with your banding.
  3. Best of luck to you. As you have most likely read - surgery is a piece of cake. Stomach hurts like you have done a few hundred sit ups, but that was it for me. Banded 2 weeks ago. God Bless you on your new journey.
  4. At every entry I bruised really good. They did give me blood thinner while in the hospital, that could be why I bruised so good. Been two weeks and where my port is located is bruised stilled. Friends that have had it done tell me this is normal. the incision above the port is indented some, that is normal too, I am told. Stomach muscles are still sore from everything. Soreness was bad the first couple of weeks. Good luck to you. I have 20 lbs off since May 6th. Still on liquids and "mushy" food. Just take it slow.
  5. how do you add the ticker factory to your post? 100 lbs - that is wonderful. I am just a week post-op - can't even think about losing 100 lbs. way to go girl!!!!!
  6. The lap band is much less invasive - and less complications. slower weight loss but so much better for your body. I have friends that have done both procedures. It is really what you are more comfortable with. Don't let them change your mind. I had my lap band a week ago. I am feeling great! good luck with what ever you decide.
  7. I had my surgery last Tuesday. A little disappointed that I have not lost more weight. Gained coming out of the hospital because of the IV's, I am sure. Guess I wanted it to just fall off...guess that won't happen since it didn't come on over night. Still on liquids for another week before I get to puree my food. My doctor was Dr. Monte Schwartz, Tucson, AZ.
