I find I can eat a lot. I've had 3 fills so far in my Realize Band. Right now I seem to be hungry all the time. The doctor's office is so booked, it's hard to get an appointment for a fill. I'm scheduled for Jan. 20 for my next one. I'm trying to eat more protein hoping that will keep me fuller longer but so far it really isn't working.:tt2:

I just had my first fill yesterday. I felt restriction right away and was told to stay on liquids for 24 hours, then mushies then back to normal foods. After my morning shake this a.m. I was feeling hungry again. I hope once I get back to regular foods, the restricted band will kick in. :biggrin:

My doctor said no swimming, baths (only showers) and sex for 4 weeks. :wink::tongue:

Thank you so much for this post. I was banded the 29th of September and wondered most of the things you posted. I'll forget and take a gulp of water and swallow and then wonder why I was able to do that. It's so good to know others are going through the same things as I am. :tt1:

I agree. This sight has been so helpful since being banded last week. I finally decided to try tylenol pm caplets tonight to see if I can get some "good rest".:tt2:

Well, it's really official now. The hospital just called and preregistered me. Two weeks from today I'll be banded.:embaressed_smile:

Hi Joy, I order from that site also. I ordered her beginners kit that had the book and a whole variety of shakes to sample. I also ordered the lemon flavored chewable vitamins for lapband paitients. I love her site too.

Austex, I hope things work out for you. Was there a reason you were switching doctors?

I'm scheduled for surgery September 29th. Next week I go for my clearance exam but hopefully, it should go well. I've been trying to get everything I need in the house to prepare for my knew way of eating. It's really exciting.:rolleyes2:

Hi, I'm in the middle of my 6 month process my insurance requires, too. I'm hoping to be banded in late October. I'm glad to know there are others in the same boat as me. It seems so far away!!!

I live in Maryland and have BC/BS and am going to a doctor in Delaware, Dr. Peters at Chrias. He's part of a group and is excellent.

Hi Friends, I just got back from swimming at the YMCA at it occurred to me it's one of the few things I can really do without my joints hurting. I kept telling myself I'm not really THAT overweight....but when you weight 229 and you're only 5 foot 3.....who am I kidding!!! I've let my weight impact my whole life and I'm tired of it. God has been so good to me and I want to share my life with people that need help, but I let my weight stand in my way!!! I'm looking forward, working the classes required by my insurance and hopefully will be banded in September. Please pray for me.

Hi and welcome. I have BC/BS of Deleware. I have to go through 6 months of classes and testing. It's really not too band. It's very well organized and the time seems to be going fast. I'm in my 3rd month. I can't help with the doctors in TN but I just had to respond to your post. My exhusband....and notice I say ex.....would not touch me in public when I was only 25 lbs over weight. I was just devasted. He's now remarried to a very nice lady who is just "a little" overweight. Thank goodness I moved on and have married the most wonderful man for me who loves me through think and thin. Good luck and God Bless.

Good Morning, I'd like to join this group. I haven't been banded yet but am in the process of going through the 6 months of classes for my insurance coverage. I'm really excited and wish the time would pass quickly but......I'm trying to be patient! Not one of my strong suits. I'm having my surgery done in Deleware by Dr. Peters. One of my reasons for having this surgery is to become a participant in life again. I feel I've just been sitting on the sidelines because of my weight. Plus, I know I'll feel a whole lot better. My husband is a minister so we're invited to a lot of special dinners!!! Thanks for letting me share.

Good morning, I just found this website yesterday. I am in the process of going through the steps BC/BS requires for lapband surgery. I started last month so I'm hoping to have the surgery in September or October. My doctor is Dr. Michael Peters and he's at Christiana Institute in Newark, Deleware. Is there anybody out there who's going to this facility? Caelyn
