    How Much Can You Eat?

I find I can eat a lot. I've had 3 fills so far in my Realize Band. Right now I seem to be hungry all the time. The doctor's office is so booked, it's hard to get an appointment for a fill. I'm scheduled for Jan. 20 for my next one. I'm trying to eat more protein hoping that will keep me fuller longer but so far it really isn't working.:tt2:

    Any locals?

My fill went great. I'm don't think I have enough restriction, but it's a start. I'm scheduled to go back in early December. I've been going to the YMCA and doing my power walk on the treadmill. I think that will help me more than just walking around the neighborhood. I'm going at least 4 times a week.

    I don't get it....

I just had my first fill yesterday. I felt restriction right away and was told to stay on liquids for 24 hours, then mushies then back to normal foods. After my morning shake this a.m. I was feeling hungry again. I hope once I get back to regular foods, the restricted band will kick in.

    Any locals?

Hi, I'm going this coming Tuesday to the Dover office for my first fill. I can't wait. I have no restriction and am ready for some help. Dr. Iragu is doing my fill. I've never met him. What's he like??? When you go to their Dover office, you get which doctor who is scheduled for that day. It's so much closer for me. Last time, for my post of checkup, I saw Dr. Wynn and really liked her. What can I expect with my first fill? Thanks for your help.:smile2:

    Any locals?

Well I had my 2 week post op with Dr.Wynn yesterday. It went very well. She told me I could move to the mushy stage and said I was healing very well. I have my appointment for my first fill in 3 weeks, election day! I feel really good. I've been going on a power walk every morning. Trying to go a little bit farther each day. I hope by moving to the mushy's it will help with my hunger.
  7. Thank you so much for this post. I was banded the 29th of September and wondered most of the things you posted. I'll forget and take a gulp of water and swallow and then wonder why I was able to do that. It's so good to know others are going through the same things as I am. :tt1:

    Abdominal Swelling

I agree. This sight has been so helpful since being banded last week. I finally decided to try tylenol pm caplets tonight to see if I can get some "good rest".:tt2:

    Any locals?

Well, I'm home from my surgery. I can't believe it. The pain is minimal but I'm really working at getting all my liquids in. It's such a wierd feeling to realize that after waiting all this time, I finally have the band. Dr. Peters was great and my stay at the hospital went really well. You sure can't sleep very much there. I forgot about the suger free popsicles. I'll have my dh pick some up. Thanks for the reminder.

    Any locals?

Great news. I'm so happy the band is working for you. It's important for us to remember that it is a tool, we still have to do the work. I finally get my band 9/29.

    Any locals?

Sorry to hear about your daughter. Hope you have your answers soon. I see Dr. Peters on Wed. for my pre op visit. I can't believe my surgery is almost here. The hospital called this a.m. to preregister me. It makes it seem so real now.
  13. Well, it's really official now. The hospital just called and preregistered me. Two weeks from today I'll be banded.
  14. Hi Joy, I order from that site also. I ordered her beginners kit that had the book and a whole variety of shakes to sample. I also ordered the lemon flavored chewable vitamins for lapband paitients. I love her site too.
  15. Austex, I hope things work out for you. Was there a reason you were switching doctors?
  16. I'm scheduled for surgery September 29th. Next week I go for my clearance exam but hopefully, it should go well. I've been trying to get everything I need in the house to prepare for my knew way of eating. It's really exciting.:rolleyes2:

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Wow, Lynn....I'm impressed. I can't wait until I can fit into size 14 again. I just told my husband, my goal is to be in the 100's by Christmas...even if it's 199.9.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Thanks for the advice about keeping a food journal. I know that's important. They have been stressing that to us in all our classes and I'm committed to doing it. Especially while I'm trying to learn to get all my protein and liquids in.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I'm having my lap band surgery the 29th of this month and I've been reading this board "forever". I wonder about the restriction issue that so many people have. Does everybody have problems feeling full?? I know the band is just a "tool" but I am hoping it will help with my appitite.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Lynn, that's good to still lose while on vacation. Most people gain. You must be so excited to see a "1" in front of your beginning weight instead of a "2". Keep it going!!!!

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Hello Everybody, I haven't posted in a while but I have been reading the boards every day. My surgery date is coming up soon, Sept. 29th. I was wondering if any of you have tried the products from the website "Susan Marie Bariatric Eating". I've ordered a couple items from them including a vitamin that is recommended for lap band patients. Just curious. I'm trying to be prepared. Thanks for any advice.:tt2:

    Any locals?

Well, I just returned from my sleep study. I passed and do not need the return visit. I'm one step closer to my goal. I will say it was pretty uncomfortable sleeping with all those wires attached. I have my 3 lifestyle classes next month and then my clearance examine in September with Dr. Monsert. I also just found out I have jury duty for the month of September here in Easton. Maybe it will help the time fly!!!!

    Any locals?

I have a question. I love my morning coffee. Are any of you coffee drinkers? I know after surgery I can only have decaf. Are there any of the protein drinks that taste like coffee that would be a good substitute in the morning? That's really the only time I crave one!!

    Any locals?

Hi All, Yesterday I had my nurse practitioner/psych eval. appointment. It went really well. They scheduled me for my clearance appointment in September and told me to call Mistee for an appointment for my surgery the end of October. I called her this morning and got it set up. :thumbup:It just feels good to have a date to look forward to. It sounds like you're all doing great. I'm going on vacation the end of the week to see my children and grandbabies in Atlanta. I've been doing my swimming and following the eating program. I've lost 7 pounds since I started so I'm pretty well pleased. I hope everybody is enjoying the summer. I'll be glad when it's over. I love the fall!!
