My surgery was supposed to be on Aug 20th but got moved up to July30th. I had all of the same feelings that you are having. Things for me went off without a hitch. I was only in surgery for 35 min and the only problem that I had was being very dizzy and hot when I came out of anesthesia. You will do great. Good Luck- July Butterflies Master Thread
Hey Orea. How did your appt go??- Pre-op Diet Question
I was only required to do 2 days of clear liquids before my surgery and my surgery went well. Clear included: Water, Broth, SF Jello, Crystal Lite. I was able to use my whey protien powder in the water and broth. Unjury makes a chicken soup flavor protien that really helped me through these couple of days. The protien bullets are also considered clear but I have yet to try those.- July Butterflies Master Thread

That is so amazing. You look great and I am glad it is easier for you to do the things you love.- Lap Band Surgery Day Stories
If you do not remove your jewelry the will do it in the OR and I was told not fingernail/toenail polish, no makeup and no lotion the day of surgery.- July Butterflies Master Thread

Thank you. I will take all of the extra support I can get right now. My husband has had more "conversation" than he wants the last couple of days. :wink2:- Lap Band Surgery Day Stories
Banded on the 30th Had to be at the hospital at 7:00 for a 9:00 am surgery. I think my day was pretty much like everyone else. They took me back to change into the gown. Let me use the bathroom and went over my history. Started and IV and gave me a small shot in my stomach that I did not even feel. They wheeled me to the OR and things happened very fast. I did get a little overwhelmed not knowing what I should do next. It seemed like 5 different people asking me to do things at the same time. I do remember them putting the mask over my face and then do not remember anything else until recovery. I woke up to a very dry throat and a nurse that keep telling me to breath deeper. I got a breathing treatment that helped my throat immediately but then was very hot and dizzy. They tell me this is a fairly normal reaction to the anesthesia but it lasted for several hours and did get me an overnight stay that was not expecting. I had a private room so all was well. I really do not have any pain to speak of but the soreness is quite a bit worse than I thought it would be. The only thing that I have to compare it to is my C-section, which I was lucky enough to have no trouble with at all. I am quite a bit sorer than I was after that surgery but I do not have a new infant to take my mind off of it all now. Hope this is help to some of you. I found this thread very comforting before my surgery. Best of luck. Shonda- July Butterflies Master Thread
BeverlyDiane - Thank you that is very sweet.- Who's Getting Banded in July?
I can't beleive that it is Aug. I hope everone that has been banded the last couple of days is doing well. My surgery went very well and only lasted 35 min. I did spend the night in the hospital due to dizziness from anesthesia and no support at home (no support at home is a long story). So glad I have been given this opportunity to start a new healthier life. Thanks to all for your support. Shonda- July Butterflies Master Thread
Hey guys. I made it. I was banded on the 30th (the same day as a Orea) and am finally on the other side. No real pain but the soreness is a little worse than I expected. I did have to spend the night in the hospital due to dizziness from the anesthesia and the fact that I have no support at home (I drove myself to the hospital and my husband showed up just before they were ready to take me back for surgery still very drunk from the night before. I had to call someone to come and get him). My doctor was very sweet and offered to let me stay the night without hesitation. I am looking forward to hearing from my band sister Orea too. I know that I do not post as often as some, but I do find great support in this site and am very thankful for all of you.- Who's Getting Banded in July?
