Why can’t we have caffeine during preop diet?

I cannot stomach the protein shake.

Maybe it’s because I’m self pay. But, most people in my area have it outpatient.

They told me if I can walk on my own and use the restroom I could leave afterwards.

You weren’t there long at all! My surgeon said the surgery only takes 20 minutes.

I’m very nervous. This preop diet is not easy. I’m on a one week liquid diet. Also, mine is outpatient.
