Regret is normal and part of the process for many
Judy…I think it is good for support from people who have been down this road. I know if you keep in touch with your bariatric program whenever you need, I mean whenever you need, they are there for you. You will get through it on the other side feeling so much better. I know what you mean. I was worried if the pain, not enough support, and the fear I was going to mess up. But know we are all here for you and feel reach out. Follow your program advice.

Regret is normal and part of the process for many
I wondered after I was rapidly losing weight. At one point I cried so hard thinking I would wiggle down to nothing. My other half hugged me for a long time and explained that my body would hit a set point and stop there or around there. I contacted my bariatric program. They reassured me that this is a normal feeling but not to worry. That I have regular checkups and they closely monitor us. I still have those random thoughts even 18 months out. Tilli

Corona delaying weight loss surgery dates? Anyone?
Well I was scheduled to meet with the surgeon on April 9th. Two weeks before I received a call (from the surgery scheduler, who btw has never been nice) that my surgery is postponed indefinitely. Firat I am on OHP (Medicaid) and I win my appeal, good for a year. Let hope that OHP will extend due to the pandemic and we don’t have to wait too long. Btw, I was so depressed, I had a mental breakdown. Wish all the best during this time. Luvs and kisses everyone. Tilli

Told not to lose weight before surgery
Me too. Went to my first three appt and was told not to lose ANY (stressed) not to lose a lbs of weight. Ugghh! This is hard to do, kinda. I want to start practicing to eat like I will have to for the rest of my life. I am proscribing chewing my food well. I am also learning to be mindful when I eat. Any other advice?? tilli

Any advice pre-op
Thanks for the advice. I am taking this very seriously and a life long thing. This is for my health (both physical and mental) not for looks. I am 54 and have stretch marks and cellulite. As I say, my badges of honor. So I am not looking to try and get into that bikini in a 20 year old body. I’m way past that. Looking forward to finding more support here.

Any advice pre-op
I am new and just had my first appts for my surgery last week. I am looking for any advice for the process til my surgery. My homework is just a blood test, mammogram, and an EKG. I don’t have to lose any weight either. I already posted my nutritional question on another post. I have increased my activity. Anything would be great. Thanks for this website. Love love love

Question about pre-op diet
I just started the program before I actually have the surgery. My question is that I don’t have to lose any weight and I’m curious if I’m trying to prepare, eatingwise, any advice? My nutritionist said eat what I want but I’m to follow the proteins about 30% and no sugar and no processed food. Maybe because I’m new I’m new and just don’t get it. Please help!!
