Anyone with PCOS not lose weight after surgery
No....I actually lost that during pre op from April to October. The doctor chastised me and said I didn't lose enough I thought it was an accomplishment. On October 1 weighed 284, Today is October 4 and I weigh 291. This is frustrating, I didn't update my stats because everyone says this is temporary because of all those IV liquids in me. @Serengirl I really hope I can lose this weight for real. Today is day 4.

October Surgery Roll Call
October folks, how is everyone doing? I was Oct 1. Did okay the first day truly wondered if I had surgery. Now I'm back from hospital and having major pain. I had to sleep sitting up last night and on my back only can't sleep on the stomach or side. I'm still up 10 lbs from surgery. I went in weighing 284 now I'm 294. bummer..I know it will go away. I didn't have any gas pain and I have 6 incisions.....

OK guys maybe I’m just pessimistic (I stress maybe) but am I the only one who has found this surgery to be a complete B*TCH?!
3 days out here..not much pain after surgery or day two but today is day 3 i'm up at 4:00 typing this and in sooo much pain. They gave me only 10 pills of 50 mg tramadol and I've taken 2 already. That leaves me with only 8 and I'm trying to use sparingly. There is also liquid tylenol I know..... NO regrets on the surgey but this pain is #$#$ no joke.

Had surgery earlier today and feel good
Update, now that I'm home from the hospital having major pain here on day 3 - go figure. I think I have the right meds though going to take in a few..........

Had surgery earlier today and feel good
Typing to you guys from the hospital. Had my surgery about 12 hours ago. I haven’t looked at my incisions but I’m told there are 6 and look good. I’m drinking water And broth about t 4-6 oz/ hour. That does not make me full wondering if this is normal? I also barely feel pain. I didn’t have any gas issues at all.... all is good and II plan to go home tomorrow. Appreciate everyone who read and responded and those who IM-ed me. I guess I’lll go over to the post op thread, lol.

High WBC count? Tomorrow's surgery may be postponed.
Hi Folks, I've been excited to count down and tomorrow is my surgery. On Sept 18th I had my final pre-blood work down and my White blood cell count was high, around 13 where the max range is 10.8. I had just finished a course of steriods for bronchitis. The surgeon examined me and I was breathing clear so asked me to do another blood test on the 27th. well..I just got an alert from quest the results were in. I looked and the WBC count is only down to 12. I haven't heard yet from the surgeon if they want to cancel but I know they are very risk adverse at this hospital. expecting I'll be postponed which is okay I guess for safety. But I already took my two weeks off of work and made plans for my staff and backups. probably posting to y'all too soon but has anyone experienced being postponed due to labworks? Ultimately I know it will be a good thing if it makes it safer and less prone to infection.....

October
October 1 here. Getting scared...liquid diet is getting old.........Surgeon chastised me for only losing 19 lbs since April...what??! He said someone of your size should have lost more and is accusing me of cheating. grr.. I'm part of a whole fancy program at a local hospital and they are strict......I'm afraid of blood clots now....., and just 2nd guessing everything. Found out I will have 6 incisions....as opposed to 5..not sure why that's bugging me but it is lol. I think I'm just a nervous nelly....not packing much...iphone and chargers, and my flip flops. figure i'll wear their gowns.... my cough has now subsided and barely there but dr did say he would cancel the surgery if I had a cough....i even went to a fancy vitamin lounge yesterday and paid for a high dose of vitamin C. Sorry..just all over the place. I go from being excited and elated to doom and gloom.

October 2019 surgery peeps?
Love your shout out to your hubby. I am luck too and won the husband lottery. My husband is so supportive, even though I know he has his concerns about this. I just read on the FB forum about a woman complaining she went back to the doctor for her 2 week follow up post surgery and only lost 4 lbs. She came home sad and told her husband he said "haha, i've been adding butter and sugar to your broth" What??!!

Thought I wanted the sleeve, Doc recommends RNY
I could have written this post. I initially met with surgeon in April intending for the sleeve. I like that it doesn't involve rerouting intenstines. I started on my program and here I am ready for my surgery. The dr. said my upper Gi results said I had GERD. I didn't know I had it. I had to do a mental shift but now am happy to have RNY, in 3 days! You will do great, just remember, just believe in the surgery you are getting!
-
Looks like I’m not getting RNY
Best of luck...I know it's hard to change but trust your surgeon. MIne changed me from sleeve to RNY. I wish I was getting the sleeve but apparantly I have acid reflux according to my upper GI results.

Was anyone told NOT to bring CPAP to hospital?
Was just at a pre-op meeting and they told the CPAP people to bring their machines but the hospital would provide the sterilized water.

October sleevers?????
I take my mason jar everywhere and bought the plastic screw on lids. A must. Only because the glass of the mason jar cleans better. Some of my protein shakes leave nasty smells in the plastic cups, lol.
