layashmil got a reaction from Ohcinders in May 2019 Surgeries ?Sorry, i know i am late! I had my surgery on 5/6! First couple days weren’t too bad! Prepare to stay more than one night in hospital because some doctors require it if you haven’t passed gas! Thankfully mine did not! Remember to walk walk walk after surgery! The gas pain is unreal! No one could have prepared me for it! So walk it out! Once i got home it was a little harder for me. For one i am a side sleeper. I am still laying on the couch bc i cannot lay flat or on a certain side. But i hear this gets better with time and everyone is different! I still struggle with getting the right amount of water and protein in! At first just the sight or smell of food made me want to throw up, but not i am hungry but it is still hard to get them down because i feel so full constantly! Also, the feeling of not pooping for 6 days is completely weird lol! I had to have the doctor order me some Miralax to help my process along quicker! Prayers for yall who are having surgery this month! It’s been rough but i know will be worth it! -
layashmil reacted to Ryster_1979 in May 2019 Surgeries ?I had mine done 5/9/19. Stood 6’ 2” tall with a clothed weight of 315 pounds and a BMI if 39.5 the day of surgery. I have my first post-op appointment tomorrow (5/15/19). Obviously I’m the same height, but my clothed weight today (5/14/19) is 291 pounds.
So far it has been clear liquids: beef or chicken broth, sugar-free popsicles and jell-o, 50-50 diluted Gatorade, etc but I have to admit: I want to eat some solid food! -

layashmil got a reaction from daisy7914 in Gastric sleeve post opMy surgeon also told me same thing. Day after surgery shower then take off bandages keep steristrips on until they fall off. I’m post op day 7 now and I’ve only had about 1 fall off. -
