KitKatC1 reacted to SteveT74 in December 2018 Sleevers!Over consumption is how we all get ourselves in trouble. It's going to happen no matter what in the beginning because the line between feeling comfortably full and puking is a fine one (at least for me and I think must of us 6 weekers). I still can't get used to chewing small bites 20 times before I swallow. I end up eating like I did pre-op which is not good. I really need to be more mindful of how fast I am eating.
Btw, my scale tricked me yesterday. The stall is not broken. I was back to 208.2 today. It's not officially a week stuck at 208. I know it's to be expected, particularly with the gym and all--but it still sucks!!! I am guessing it could stay stuck for a few more days and then hopefully I'll drop a couple of pounds overnight. I like to be optimistic.

KitKatC1 reacted to Lolo 2020 in December 2018 Sleevers!Wow Steve u r doing great ! I can easily drink water as well and am doing purée and soft but still being careful . I can get a small container of plain yogurt down at one sitting but it takes a while . I have heard the sleeve doesn’t really kick with a lot of restriction till solid food so I wouldn’t worry , that said I would keep calories below 800 and Ike u r doing , carbs below 50. I am headed to my 3 rd spin class this week and feel great as well ! Just dont want to end up with a hernia, so waiting on weights . My spinning broke my 3 day stall , but I agree , I think as long as we track the carbs and sugar , try to stay in Kerosis we can lose 1 lbs day or so. I have lost 15 since my 12/20 surgery and. 22 since the start of my preop diet . Feeling strong I agree , best thing I ever did !

KitKatC1 reacted to Darci kendall in December 2018 Sleevers! You will stall up to 2 weeks at a time it’s your body adjusting

KitKatC1 reacted to batty_vsg in December 2018 Sleevers!Oh hey, you're in Virginia too! We're only two days apart for our surgery! What doctor did you go through? I will say that out of all of my incisions, the one where they took the stomach out is definitely the last to close up and is still kind of healing.

KitKatC1 reacted to Jeelena2019 in December 2018 Sleevers! The incision my stomach was taken out of hasn’t hurt at all, actually none of my incisions have hurt at all. My surgeons protocol is Prilosec daily for the first six months then reassess. -
KitKatC1 reacted to Chuck Clasik in December 2018 Sleevers!I’m just about 4 weeks out and that same incision you speak of is opening back up for me. I go to doc on Tue. Will see what they have to say about it. I have no pain, but it just don’t want to close. Scan came and went and now, opening. Good luck with yours. -
KitKatC1 reacted to batty_vsg in December 2018 Sleevers! So one of the scars that I have on my stomach, near the belly button, is where they took out the excess stomach. I was told that there would likely be pain in this area for awhile and even now (almost four weeks out), it still aches sometimes. As long as the pain isn't paired with a symptom like a fever, intense nausea or diarrhea, then I believe it is just pain from your body having gone through surgery. Now as far as your upper ribs. Were you prescribed an acid reducer at all? Can you describe the pain near your ribs?

KitKatC1 reacted to Lolo 2020 in December 2018 Sleevers!I am sitting down when I spin mostly and not to strenuous , they have said a stationary bike is ok so I fee like it’s the same . Doc said I am cleared for everything after 4 weeks .. 10 days to go .. but I worked out a fair bit before surgery ..

KitKatC1 reacted to Darci kendall in December 2018 Sleevers!Gotta be careful your sleeve takes up to 6 Months to fully Heal

KitKatC1 reacted to Phillysawdocfan in December 2018 Sleevers!Wow, great job with the spinning class. Probably burning more calories than your total intake for the day. My Doc said nothing but walking for first couple weeks. Your work is inspiring. Good luck

KitKatC1 reacted to Lolo 2020 in December 2018 Sleevers!Mine did too , I am being bad but I am going stir crazy and need the endorphins. I am doing it mostly seated , not too much jogging and standing . Back was a bit sore last night , but was better with a heating pad . did an hour spin today , was motivated cuz I lost 1.5lbs today ?

KitKatC1 reacted to Lolo 2020 in December 2018 Sleevers!I love pure protein . It’s only 160 calories a scoop and a whopping 35 g of protein . I buy the drinks at Trader Joe’s and do 2 a day to ensure I get my protein because I just can’t eat that much yet . A little lower abdominal pain yes , sometimes if I eat something that doesn’t agree with me or I overdo

KitKatC1 reacted to Brenttx in December 2018 Sleevers!Holy cow, I'd heard about the feeling cold thing but I never anticipated it being this bad! It's like my wife and I have switched places. We were always battling over the thermostat in the house and car and it was because she would always sweat me out and I would freeze her out. Her and my kids think this is hilarious watching me cover up in a blanket while watching tv and whatnot. I was always sweating before and now I'm cold all the time and they are complaining of the heat if I turn it up too much. Crazy!

KitKatC1 reacted to Strivingforbetter in Has anyone kept their surgery a secret? This has been widely discussed on this site, and you'll find that people have strong opinions for either keeping it a secret or telling all. I personally have kept my surgery private. Only my husband and children know. I don't feel obligated to tell anyone my personal medical history. I wouldn't expect someone to tell me they had a vasectomy. It's none of my business. I've changed my eating habits, so I tell them what my diet consists of but leave it at that. Too many people want to criticize another person for his/her life decisions, and I don't have time for that. I'm focusing on being positive and healthy and don't need the drama, especially at work.

KitKatC1 reacted to dawnam in Support and honesty neededLifetime of nausea and vomiting? uh.. I haven't had a bout of nausea or vomiting once. Not in the hospital, not since I have been out of the hospital. I am 26 days post op and I am losing weight and am 2 weeks from being on full diet, and life is good! You do you and don't listen to someone who honestly has no idea what they are talking about

KitKatC1 reacted to Frustr8 in Support and honesty neededAnd February on, after your surgery water bloat is over, your losses will start, even if you hit a Stall later, you will continue to lose, and pretty soon even he will have to appreciate the New and improving You, if he doesn't that's his fault not yours. Do You, do it well, and believe always in You! -
KitKatC1 reacted to ShrinkingTN- hopefully in Support and honesty neededThank you so much for all the awesome advice and support. I do have other comorbidity factors and my weight keeps climbing no matter how much I exercise. You have all helped me so much. It’s really reinforced how much I want to do this. This is more support and advice I’ve had in anything. Thank you all so much! ❤️ I’m very greatful.

KitKatC1 reacted to Myhorseisfattoo in Support and honesty neededDUDE! I'm 52 and fatter than you and I'm doing smashingly well! Look at my stats! My husband was super weird about the surgery too, but now that he is seeing the results he is more of a believer. Also, I have never thrown up. Got nauseous 3 times. Haven't had crazy diarrhea. Kinda just plugging along.
Don't let him rain on your parade. If you have tried everything and it hasn't worked, GO FOR IT with a nice, clear conscience and a wonderful journey to look forward to!
