I was banded 4/29, 1st fill will be 5/29. I am traveling to Russia in July and will stay for one year. I was banded four days ago. Seems that everyday I have :frown: diarrhea at least 4-5 times per day and at night, when lying down, get reflux coming up my throat into the mouth. Is this normal ? Drinking decaf tea, water, bullion, and sugar free jello.

Thank you. I live in St Pete Beach and Tampa General Hospital as you know, is across the bay. Since I moved here from Tampa, I hardley ever go over the bridge anymore. My doctor's office is only five minutes away. It's nice to be able to exchange ideas and stories with others who have gone through the procedure already. Joe

I was on some sort of protein powder diet, not optifast. It was effective, as I lost 20lbs in two weeks. Good luck on your surgery 5/9.

I am still struggling with the clear liquids. I wish I could have some cheese too.

Hi, My name is Joe. I was banded on 4/29/08 in St Petersburg FL. I have tossed the idea around for a year, and finally made the decision a few months ago to follow thru. My surgeon was Dr Rehnke and it was performed at Palms of Pasadena Hospital. I am 55 and have a 4-1/2 year old daughter that I would like to be around for, so that was my big motivator to have it done. When I told her that I was having the surgery, she said, dad, I hope you don't lose your fat arm, it's a comfortable pillow for me. From the day that I started the Protein drinks until surgery, I have lost around 30lbs.
