Try Oikos Triple Zero yogurt— has 15 g of protein and no sugar

Also string cheese and turkey jerky are great snacks

And has anyone ever needed a J-tube inserted? A doctor ( not,my surgeon) mentioned it as an alternative, think I would prefer my PICC LINE which I am starting to develop a truce with, to an J-TUBE through my abdominal wall. What think all of you?

That's just some product endorsement going on there. I usually don't suggest going against what your Dr. says but there's no reason why you can't try a different brand that will go down better as long as it does the same thing. Premiere is probably the #1 premixed protein drink purchased by WLS patients in the U.S.

My insurance approved first, maybe on General Principles? Goody, Frustr8 is going to have her surgery, maybe she'll stop bothering us! I knew it was okay but had to wait until September 5th because of vacations.

I have my surgery date it's January 15. I have to have RNY with a little more. I'm on the scared side mainly because of age and health, some of the same reason I'm having surgery...lol. Try to keep a positive attitude.

I just had surgery on the 20th, am on 5 days post op today and walked 2.5 miles and feel great ! The day of surgery sucks, no way around it, but morphine helps . Day 2 is tuff as well but get up and walk every few hours and stop morphine midday . Liquid Tylenol will help u sleep that night so ask for some . Will be hard swallowing day 3-4 when u r home , warm chicken broth works and micro sips . Just make sure u walk 5-15 minutes once u r out of hospital , try to work up to 2 x a day . Really helps with gas pain and bloating from IV. Make sure u use gas x, Pepcid and zofran anti nauseau post surgery - u will do great
ps, I wasn’t perfect on the 2 week liquid diet prep and all was still good !
