First time traveling post surgery. I'm home-food-sick [emoji21] I was excited about the eggs, only to discover they are powdered. Boo.

Had a Salsarita's Mexican Bowl for lunch today... and for dinner too. Lol. First pic is before, second is what was left after eating lunch, third is what was left after eating it for dinner. Prior to surgery I would have added rice in the bowl too and would have eaten the whole thing at one meal. Refried beans, black beans, steak, shrimp, shredded cheese, corn salsa, lettuce, sour cream and queso

Made homemade loaded potato soup tonight with pepperoni pizza grilled cheese. Carb city [emoji21] but it was delicious. I put 1 cup of soup in my bowl and ate about 1/2. I also ate 1/4 of a grilled cheese sandwich. I'm not even feeling guilty about it thanks to my protein filled breakfast & lunch! I had a boiled egg and string cheese for breakfast and enjoyed it so much that I had the same for lunch!

Not feeling too well today so I opted for fruit for dinner. Cantaloupe didn't taste quite ripe, but the pineapple was delicious!

Lunch at Japanese by request of 4 out of 4 kids. No rice for me (just a tiny bit of it makes me violently sick). Fork picture is the after. I feel like I made it into the "Wheres the difference?" club.... am I right? [emoji23] It was yummy though.

I've never heard of Fathead before, but will definitely try! I have had Real Good Pizza, however, and it's amazing! They have several varieties, but supreme has been my favorite so far. I can't wait to try Fathead now!

Tonight was nacho night at our house. No chips or rice for me, but I enjoyed my meal. Prior to surgery I would have put double this amount on my plate and likely eaten it all. Tonight, I had my fill and I may have eaten half what I plated. Taco meat, black beans, salsa, shredded cheese, sour cream, and melted cheese.

Do you use an app to track your ingredients and nutrition? I love seeing that when you post! Your breakfast looks amazing by the way! I had a protein shake [emoji21]

Hamburgers were one of my favorites prior to surgery. Last night I had my first burger post-op. I plated 1/2 a hamburger. I had cauliflower tots with it, and hubby made baked beans with brisket (oh the indulgences). This was my first try with cauliflower tots and I'm in love! You probably can't tell by the tiny bit eaten, but I tried to get that protein in first! Lol. My daughter hated them & said they remind her of an egg roll flavor. Kids... I stopped before I felt restriction but I was no longer hungry.

We had chicken again because I found another recipe I wanted to try! Lol Tonight was bnls/sknls chicken thighs with bacon & Colby cheese, mashed cauliflower, and green beans again for me. Hubs & kids had real potatoes & corn as their sides. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I had about 1/4 a thigh and stopped when I felt restriction.

My very first before/after food post! Thank you Tealael for telling me about this one! Tonight for dinner I made a new, and so awesome, meal. Chicken in a creamy parmesan mushroom sauce with veggie noodles and green beans (bc GBs are my favorite!) First one is my before photo, second is my after. I added the pic of the noodle bag just incase anyone hasn't seen these. I stopped when I felt restriction.

Am I eating right?
Thank you so much! I do have a NUT but I haven't seen her post-op yet and I won't see her until I'm almost 60 days post-op. :-( Thank you so much for the link and for being so helpful!

Am I eating right?
I had some crab salad today and was only able to get about 3 tablespoons down and I felt full. About 2 hours later I was hungry again. I try drinking water each time I feel hungry, just to be sure it's actually hunger. If I'm still hungry within 15mins of drinking the water then I will wait another 15 and eat something. I just hope I'm doing it all right! I'm so scared of "stretching the pouch" or eating something that will set me up for failure just because it goes down easy or feels good on my stomach. I'm sure I'm not the only one worried about all this or stressing when there's nothing saying I'm doing it wrong.

Am I eating right?
Oh! Lol. I feel like I'm hungry often. I eat 3 meals a day but then I snack 2 or 3 times too. I'm not sure if I'm eating too many calories either. Is there a number I should try to stay around?

Am I eating right?
Bc I'm brand new at this. My Doctor never gave me much in terms of how I should eat. I've basically relied on google and pinterest to tell me what to do.

Protein shakes
Oh, I should add: the downside is that there are only 2 flavors- Creamy Vanilla and Milk Chocolate. If you're good with either of those then I suggest giving one a try. Can't really hurt, right?

Protein shakes
Regular atkins is only 15g protein, and not worth the struggle of getting a shake down. The Atkins plus protein are 30g so much better! Lol

Protein shakes
I drink the Atkins Plus Protein. I like Vanilla & Chocolate. Hated premier and couldn't force myself to drink them. The Atkins plus protein actually has a better protein vs carb aspect too.

Am I eating right?
I am now exactly 1 month post-op (vsg)and slowly trying new foods. I pay attention to the nutritional information on all of my foods, trying to ensure I'm eating well. I look for foods high in protein, low in fat, and even lower in carbs. I document EVERYTHING in Myfitness Pal and I'm steady around 480-525 calories per day; which I'm assuming is okay with this new, much smaller pouch(?) I wait 30 minutes after my last drink before I eat and I then wait 30 mins after eating to drink again. I'm doing well with my water; staying around 70oz daily. Still, I constantly worry: Am I eating right?

December Bypass Twin?
I'm with you! I have 5 days left of full liquid, then moving on to soft foods. The protein shakes are killing me! Lol. Prior to surgery I found several I loved. Now they're so sweet and have become the most hated part of my day. Can't wait for something new.

December Bypass Twin?
Just got home from my post-op. 10 days out and he said I'm doing great. I've been cleared to go to the gym! Up to 15lbs, but hey! That's so exciting to me. I am 20.2lbs down since November 26th, which I'm excited about. Still full liquid until January 1.
