  1. Thanks Salsa - It is nice of you to go into other threads and give tips and information for us newbies to being banded! Terri:wub:
  2. Wow Salsa - I just checked your ticker - 100 pounds - that's great!!! You are an inspiration to us all! Terri:thumbup:
  3. Muscle Milk - where do you get that? Does is come in chocolate or strawberry? I am not having any problems with the Isopure, just tried the apple melon and it tastes quite good! I love that drinking 2 bottles gets me almost to my 85 grams of protein! I also did the gold card and I am sure that I will get my money's worth out of it. Of course I missed last weeks sale on the Isopure, but I think it was about $4.00 per bottle, but my liquid is only 5 days, so it was worth $40 not to be hassled with mixing anything! I will check out the muscle milk though. Thanks for all the tips!! Terri
  4. Hey all you 22nders!!!! We did it!!! I too thought that it might not be done for some unknown reason. But it is finished! Still sore at the port site - actually it seems that I am sore a littler lower than the port site. Drinking my liquids - no problem with that or taking my pills which was a concern of mine. Just taking it slow! Terri:biggrin:
  5. WOW!!! You guys are doing great!!! I was banded yesterday and I think I am the only person who has gained 2 pounds since surgery yesterday!!!!! :cursing: Hopefully it is just all of the fluids from the Ivs in the hospital! Terri
  6. Hey Lexy - was banded yesterday 22nd. Yipee!! I found a great Protein drink at GNC called Isopure. Each bottle is 20 oz. of liquid with 40 g of protein. I have to drink 85 g of protein per my nutritionist, so I am drinking 2 bottles of this each day and filling in with other Proteins. It kind of looks and tastes like cool-aid. Not bad - especially if cooled. Hope all continues to go well with you! (and me!!) Terri :cursing:
  7. Glad to hear you are doing well! I was banded yesterday - doing ok! Yeah - we're banded!! Terri :cursing:
  8. Thanks for the advise Gwen!! I have been doing that! Terri
  9. Hi all - WELL I MADE IT!!! I'M OFFICIALLY BANDED!! YOO HOO!! I'm not going to say that it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, in case tomorrow is hell!! Thanks for all of your support - I even ended up having a hernia that I didn't even know I had. Thanks again and love you guys!! Terri :blushing:
  10. Hi Marine - Glad everything went well - I go in tomorrow and am starting to get nervous. It almost sounded like you went to the dentist - in and out!!! Nice and fast! Good advise about the pain medicine! Take care - glad it is over for you! - now the fun begins! Terri
  11. Wow that was a fast response!!! Hopefully I will be able to post tomorrow night after surgery!! Terri
  12. Hi all - glad to hear everyone is doing well! Go in tomorrow, getting the usual bout of nerves and the "I must be crazy!!!", but looking in the mirror and taking my blood pressure pills in the morning reminds me of the reason for this. It is great to hear all of your stories. Can't wait for the burping! Now I will have a real reason to burp! Jessica - I agree - make sure you get a second opinion! 1 more day!!! Terri
  13. You're the first person I have read who is posting from the hospital bed - now that is true dedication to the May bandsters!!! Glad all is going well, I go in tomorrow - be there at 5:30am, surgery at 7:30am, but I don't get to stay overnight. Can't wait to read your next posting!!! Maybe it will be from the ride home from the hospital!!! LOL Terri

  17. ONLY 2 MORE DAYS!!! Never heard of the antiseptic showering - not even for any of my other surgeries. I would think that they would clean the area with antiseptic in the operating room!! Is this an HMO???!!! Trying to save money!!! LOL!!! Anyway - start my liquid diet tomorrow and stocked up on all my other supplies for the days following. How exciting and nerve wracking!! Terri :cursing:

  22. Hi Teri, I'm Terri - and you are definitely NOT alone!!! I have found this website to be nothing short of amazing! Everyone in here is caring and exudes love and understanding! We can all do this together! From one Terri to another - yeah for us!!! Terri (with 2rs!)
  23. Wow - you guys are doing great!!! I am getting banded on the 22nd and only hope my recovery will be as good as all of yours -(except for the hiccups!) Terri
  24. Me too Jules!!! May 22nd - AAAHHHHH!!!! Will it ever get here?! Terri
  25. Hey Jessica - still thinking about you and wishing you well. I went to a seminar by my doctor, and he said that sometimes when he comes across patients with a lot of scarring he has to do an "open" surgery. I don't know if this is only for gastric bypass or if it is also for lap banding, but I'm sure you are not the only person who has this problem. Hopefully, he will offer you an alternative and your journey will just be a little delayed!! Better safe than sorry. Keep us posted. xxoo Terri
