  1. I felt the same way for the first three days after spending a night in the hosptial, it gets better every day. Tell her to hang in there, it's well worth it, I am 11 days post op, down 41 pounds total and feel pretty awesome. Hang in, take advantage of the pain meds!
  2. Hey Guys, I'm a few dyas post op, the first couple of days where really not fun but doing OK now, just really hungry. I can start full liquids tomorrow. I have a few questions to you guys, anyone a coffee drinker? How long until you had a good cup? I weened myself off of sweetening my coffee now I like to just drink it with milk or ff cream. what do you guys think? Also to you golfers, how long until you got back on the course?
  3. Cowboy, you are killing it. How inspiring! O to day two of liquid. Not so bad, my hunger is way more mental when I really was honest last night with myself. 11 more to go!
  4. Starting my Pre-Op liquid diet (Optifast) today. I'm dreading the next 12 days. How's everyone else?
  5. I hope to gain my Independence on 7/3 when I will have my surgery!
  6. Hey guys, It's been a while since I've posted but I'm back. I have finished all my pre-op stuff and got approved. My surgery is scheduled for 7/3, it could have been 6/19 but that wasn't a good date for me. I'm am nervous I think. Not sure what I am feeling, I just left my doctor's office for my final pre-op appointment. Tell me some good sutff if you have a minute! Tanks
  7. Hey fellas, just came here yesterday wanted to bounce something off of you guys to see what everyone things. As I said, I have completed all my prerequisites and my stuff has/or is being submitted by the surgeon's office to my insurance. I am confident that I will be approved. Last night I started having thoughts about putting the surgery off until after my wedding on 11/1. Summer has always been a very busy time for me, work, 2nd work, and socially. Plus I know I have stag parties being thrown for me and then ultimately my wedding. What do you guys think? I still really want this surgery, I just think that I can make more out of it after this wedding and it would overall work better for me.
  8. hey guys, thanks for all the responses. The ? marks are only beers or drinks. It is just going to be a tough change for me not to be able to have a couple of beers at will. I know in my heart it is probably for the best calorie wise and wallet wise but it is ritual that I will certainly miss with my buds!
  9. Hey everyone, I'm new to this group. I have just completed all my pre-op hoops nad am awaiting insurance approval. I have been severely overweight all my life and am sick of it. I just turned 30, and I am getting married in November and have been contemplating this for a while. I am a Probation officer on the state level and specialize in warrant service/fugitives and want to be in better shap for my health and to do my job better. I don't really mind not being able to eat (which I expect to be the case after surgery) the only reservation I have at this point is going out with the guys and not being able to have a couple you know? Tell me what its like please?
