    Banded in January 2006?

Well let's see, where to begin... I think I weighed 293 when I got this whole process started in October 2005. Now I'm down to 238 and I think I've got the perfect restriction. Finally!!! I was supposed to go to get checked and maybe another fill tomorrow, but cancelled my appt because I'm feeling fine and eating just enough, but losing steadily. My doctor is Dr Jeff Baker in Fridley Minnesota. I really like him. He's kinda goofy but really knowledgable. I think I've had 4 fills and I'm at 1.4 now total. That's pretty tight but still I can eat most anything if I chew, chew, chew!!! That's my biggest problem. I forget to chew good right when I start to eat and then I'll get clogged and be miserable. I have to keep reminding myself to chew! I love this link too JJB, my husband gets tired of all the band talk I do, too. And Morisaille, I've been noticing quite a difference in clothes too. I have gone down from wearing a 22 before surgery to now an 18 is getting loose. I love that, but I hate baggy clothes so I'm always looking for cheap clothes to get me by this size. I hate to spend a bunch of money on pants knowing that they are going to be too big in a month. But it's great to be able to feel the difference. When I look in the mirror I still see the bigger me, though. But my Mom and sister came for a visit on July 5 and they said they can tell a huge difference. They haven't seen me since I got my band. That was nice too. So what about you guys, are ya'll married, kids, how's it going for you? It's nice to have people who know what you're going through to talk to. JJB you've lost 80lbs, that's fantastic. What's your secret? LOL Hope to talk again soon!!!

What dont you like about the band?

After you are banded you just have to make good choices on what you eat first! After you eat what you should, usually you can't even think of eating anything else. Just too full!!! That's one of the great benefits, when you're full you're full!!! One extra bite and you'll know it.

    Banded in January 2006?

Hey all!!! I was banded Jan 27, 2006. It was actually my daughters 9th Birthday. I'm glad I found this thread!!! I was wondering if there was a group for us Jan bandsters. I guess I can't really complain, everything seems to be going pretty well for me. The weight loss is slow but steady. What more can I ask for? It's going... Hope to get to chat more with all of you!

What dont you like about the band?

Mark, I think the most difficult thing we deal with is our brain telling you that you haven't eaten enough when your new stomach is telling you enough. That is the only thing I still struggle with after almost 6 months if being banded. You can pretty much eat anything you want to with the band, just tiny bits! I think the only food that really gives me fits is bread! But if that's the only thing I CAN"T eat, I can live with that. Anyway, don't start worring about things you can't control now. I thonk the reason you only hear good things from people who are banded is because there really isn't much bad to say about it. I'm glad that this is the way I chose to go and I'm sure you will be too!!! Good Luck and Congrats to you and your wife!!!

    Star Jones is SOOOO BUSTED!!!!!!

Hey. ya'll. My two cents... I think it's all a bunch of BS. If she had it done and she's walking around in a bikini she's basically asking for people to start talking. I had my gallbladder out 9 years ago laprascopically and now the band in Jan. The doctor couldn't use my gallbladder surgery scars so now I basically look like a stab victim, and if I choose to go walking around in a bikini I can't expect people to ignore all the scars! I mean, really! And she doesn't want people to go get this surgery just because she did... What about Ann Wilson from Heart, or Sharon Osborne? They are both open about their Lap Band surgeries and you don't hear about people blaming them.

    Anyone know???

Hey, I was just wondering if anyone has any advise on how long to wait to decide if you need to have the tummy tuck and breast reduction surgery. Or really how long to wait to see if your skin will start to go back? I had my band surgery 01/27/06. And I'm down about 50 lbs. but getting frusterated with all this flubb! I'm the girdle queen!!! But looking forward to not having to wear it! Any advice will help. Thanks,
  7. Hello!!! I'm Jennie and I was banded on January 27th, 2006. I have had two fills, the first was .7 and most of that evaporated (to .2), then 1.0 for a total of 1.2. I have lost about 25 lbs total. This last fill seems to really make a difference for me. The first one I couldn't really tell much. But anyway, I keep hearing people talk about PB's. What does that stand for? I can relate to some of the symptoms but don't know what the PB stands for. I welcome any input. Or just some chatting and info about others. Hope to hear back and get more involved in this site. Very insightful!!! Jennie
