  1. I’m in the same boat. I’m 3.5 months post op and I only poop every 7-10 days and Only when I take a laxative. Miralax and colace do nothing... nada. I drink 100oz+ of water a day and eat 3 protein forward meals. I don’t feel bad, my stomach doesn’t hurt but I just don’t poop. I’m afraid to see how long it would go on without the laxative ?. My docs office said to just take the laxative for now and if it’s still an issue at 6 months they will send me to a gastro.
  2. Hiya, I filled up a big bottle an then had a juice glass (so it didn’t seem soooo overwhelming). ? then I set a timer and had to drink a glass every 30 minutes. Protein shakes, milk and broth all count towards fluids so I added those in as well. Lots of folks on here have had good luck with the protein waters (Isopure 40, Protien20 and premier clear). I loved them pre surgery but find them too sweet right now. Hoping to start incorporating them again down the road. Water is super important. You can do it!
  3. Id love to get to 128oz. Before surgery I drank a lot of water. I’m 11 days post surgery and have gotten to 72. @matt z How long did it take you to build to that and did you have a strategy you used to get there? Appreciate any tips. Thanks!
  4. Surgery date: 10/31/18 Height 5’9” Highest weight 298 Surgery weight 270 Current weight 262 Goal weight 195 I just want to weigh under 200lbs once in my adult life. Lol. I’ve been over 200 since I was 14. I’m 43 now. It took me a while to figure out how to get all the fluids and protein but yesterday it just all clicked. Yay! Now I just need to get cleared for purée foods so I can get some more calories in! Currently only getting 350-400/day and with all the walking I’m doing it’s leaving me pretty exhausted. ? this board has been a great resource to me and I appreciate everyone sharing their experiences.
  5. Im day 5 post op. I’ve had a roughish road. My blood pressure dropped out in the hospital and they wouldn’t let me try to walk again until day 2. Then I struggled with the anesthesia, nausea and overproduction of saliva. That lasted until yesterday. I feel like I’m trying so hard to get the liquid in. Every sip hurts to swallow. If I try my hardest I’ll probably get 34oz in today. I feel dehydrated and way behind the “schedule”. Any advise?
  6. Thankfully nausea has subsided but I’m finding it so difficult to get my water or food down. It feels like everything is kind of sticking right behind my breastbone. It feels weird and every sip makes me burp. I’m also so tired!! I’ve been walking for 10 min every few hours. Just struggling and looking for advice.
  7. Had my surgery on 10/31. Been horribly nauseous ever since. Please tell when that gets better because I hate being nauseous more than anything!
  8. Me too! So excited. Good luck!!
  9. Sorry for this... Is it normal that I haven’t pooped in 7 days? I’m on a liquid diet so there isn’t really anything going in but it just feels strange not to have pooped in so long. ?
  10. My surgery date is 10/31! I've been on a 2 week liquid/raw veg pre-op diet about a week. Not the best diet I've been on but at lease I stopped being ravenously hungry after day 5. Haha! Only 10 days to go!
