I only wish I had started this process a few years ago but then, I was busy making and having babies so maybe that's better... my surgeon has been so amazing- there's no feeling of shame at all when you go into the office, which is incredible because I think I'e just internalized this baseline of shame with my body and when I'm not feeling it, it's almost weird. I'm in East Granby- super close to Springfield!

That doesn't sound silly at all! I can't wait to stop pretending that I don't want to go to amusement parks, just because I can't fit in the seats. I travel for work a lot, and will be ecstatic to stop covertly using a seatbelt extender.
Since we are getting the surgery in November, apparently I've heard that 40% of our excess weight will be off in 6 months. That's just in time for summer! I can't wait to get back to kayaking/canoeing/hiking/biking...and really just being able to walk without dreading that my lower back is going to start screaming in agony after a minute.
I'm scared about the surgery, definitely...but I also can not WAIT!

All of this. I have a HUGE tote of heels I wore just 8-9 years ago when I was 140lbs. Soon...soon...
I hate my body much less now than I did back then; something that started all the weight gain. I look back at those pics and I'm like WTF WAS WRONG WITH YOU. Fat at 140lbs?! Way to go, me. lol. I can't wait for my appearance to match my give no effs attitude that I've developed. First thing I do when I hit a size 12 is drop serious $$$ at Express and White House Black Market. And everywhere. Everywherreeeeee. hahaha.

Mousecat88 exciting! My op date is November 5th, and pre-op diet for me begins on the 20th I think. I've been doing 80% of the pre-op diet already for the last couple of weeks... greek yogurt for breakfast, 1 protein shake for lunch, another greek yogurt for a work day snack. Then I've been having chicken and veggies or salads for dinner.
I've really enjoyed this process of basically eating what I'll be having for 2 weeks before and after the surgery.
Honestly, its not bad. I haven't weighed myself yet, but this may be the first time I can't wait to see the scale whenever I go to my pre-op appointment this Friday.

I didn't realize this group was also on FB as well! I feel like there is this whole new underworld of bariatric members and support groups that I had no idea existed. It makes me wonder if I had found groups like this earlier, would I have decided to go for it earlier as well!
Definitely excited to stay connected and share this journey with all of you :)

Since my surgery date is November 1st, I'll be the test subject for this thread. hahaha.
I started the pre-op early. Today is my start. Starving. But I gotta just deal!

    November 5th for me!
I'm terrified, but started drinking the Premier Protein Shakes and Greek yogurts for breakfast and lunch about 3 weeks ago. I'm happy that those, to me, are incredibly filling...which makes me a little worried about how hard it will be to force down anything once our stomachs are tiny :/
