I dont have a goal weight for myself. My goal is to be able to go to a theme park and ride all the roller coasters.. I haven't been able to do that since I was 18.. which.. doesnt feel like it was that long ago.. but it was.

I don't think I'm ready ):
I went towards gastric bypass about 5-6 years ago.. but didnt end up going through with it.. I finally had my procedure last Monday at age 44.. it is what it is.. but I'll say not much changed in my feeling about my weight between then and now.. it went down for a bit then came back up.. if you're ready go for it.. it's all up to you.. I had alot of people in my life pushing me towards putting this off till after the holidays but I just wasnt willing to wait. It's all up to you.

Tell me about your immediate post-op recovery!
The biggest thing I'm noticing is I'm getting some serious food cravings.. it's not unlike how it was before.. I haven't given into any of them as I'm just not willing to suffer what I'm sure will be awful consequences..

Tell me about your immediate post-op recovery!
I haven't had issues with nausea since the second day at the hospital. The first couple times what I was puking up were really deep burps then the last time I puked up what looked to me like bile.. I haven't been sick to my stomach since then thankfully and the nurse said it was normal what I was dealing with. It's the end of day four for me, and besides alot of tiredness.. I'm sleeping.. alot.. and my stomach is fairly sore most of the time but besides that I seem to be ok.

730 pm.. had broth for the first time tonight.. and ugh.. it was gross . But I dealt with it and got it down.. took some stool softeners as well.. hopefully I'll be able to go no. 2 in the next day or two.. I'm not super stressed about it.. like 75 Pct of all tv commercials are about fing junk food.. it looks good bah.. be strong chuck.. remembering that I've been there and done that helps.. I just need to be strong.

Dr Alejandro Gandsas and the AAMC team
I just wanted to share a positive review of aamc's clinic. Dr Gandsas is great and his whole team are really great and helpful. Anne Arundel Medical Center is a great place to get wls if you live near Maryland.

Two and a half days post op
So. I'm going to keep a mini journal with this thread I think.. anyone else who wants to do the same please feel free. Woke up after only a few hours sleep.. not really tired strangely. My mind wants to eat.. I keep getting the desire to eat something.. which I'm certain would go badly.. so here I am.. drinking my oj and water mix.. so far so good.

Two and a half days post op
So I had my sleeve gastrectomy on Monday at around 2 pm EDT.. it's now 107 am on Thursday early morning.. and I just got out of the hospital earlier today.. so far all I've had is half orange juice/half water.. about 45 ounces or so and now I have a big container of room temp water.. that I've sort of been sipping on the last hour.. ok only one sip so far.. but ya.. I'm trying my best to deal with all the pain and stuff.. it's not super easy but I'm ok. Just wanted to share where I was at.. this has been a long process getting to this point and it's almost surprising to me that I really full on went through with the surgery.. no regrets.. I'm happy I did it.. I just want it to stop hurting when I try and drink something hah..

October 2018 Sleevers
I just had mine a couple days ago.. the 22nd of October. Haven't felt really hungry yet.. a few random food smells caused me some interest but.. after two days in the hospital trying my butt off to put down two pint sized bottles of water.. thinking of actually eating something sounds pretty impossible.. I'm home now drinking a mix of orange juice and water. Which is pretty difficult but I'm getting it down. To attempt to answer your question.. the actual reality of ingesting things post the procedure gives you a decent amount of clarity.. or it has for me so far. If it hurts to drink oj/water eating anything would just be pure hell.

Kind of freaking out.
I went to the er today.. they put an ace bandage on it, which I'm wearing now and said it might be a sprain.. no broken bones thankfully. She also said there were signs of degenerative disease from carrying all my weight but hopefully that will get better.. 11 1/2 hours till I'm in the hospital.. thanks all for the replies

Kind of freaking out.
My surgery is on Monday in less than two days. Yesterday, friday I woke up with awful pain in my right foot that as of yet has not gone away. I'm really worried because I really can hardly walk to the bathroom at the moment that they might call off the surgery because of my bad foot.. does anyone know if this will be an issue? Really freaking out honestly.
