  1. I dont have a date for my surgery yet but my drs requirement is that you walk a mile before you leave. Aparently its 16 laps aroung the recovery floor. Some people stay over night and others have gone home right after recovery and their laps. It depends on the time of the surgery.
  2. I want to run. I want to play basketball with my daughter. I want to be able to walk down the aisle of my schoolbus instead of zig-zagging between the seats when I do my pre-trips. I want to buy clothing from any store I choose. I want to wear "hot" shoes, you know those sexy high heals. I want to go on an airplane and not fear that the seat belt wont fit. I want to go to Disney World next year and be able to keep up with my daughter and husband.:huh2: The list goes on, these are just some of the many things I want.
  3. I am just starting this journey and have also run into the negative comments. When I told my BFF the first thing she said was "I would reather do it naturaly." She is also over weight. I was really upset and spoke with my SIL who had the band done a year ago, her advice to me was to avoid people who are going to be negative and if you cant aviod them dont bring up the subject. If all else fails tell them point blank "I'm not doing this for you." Because in the vast scheme of things the only oppinion that matters is yours. You know your struggles and what you are capable. Good luck.
