Single DUE to surgery
I asked this question on a men’s Facebook page for wls and was driven off the site from all the abuse I got. Glad there hasn’t been the same response here

Was there a pivotal moment that made you say I’m doing this?
I fell down one night into my hand and the shock smashed my elbow in about a dozen pieces. It was a simple fall which I am sure would not have had the same result had I been smaller. No doctor will admit that though, but that was the final straw that made up my mind.

Jan 2019 bypass buddies
How’s everyone doing post op. I had the surgery on the 16 th and am back to work tomorrow. Probably could’ve gone back last week but decided not to. Am glad to have the break. I lost 4kg in the week following surgery but not a single pound had come off since. So frustrating. Anyone else’s experience this? I wasn’t expecting to stall so soon

January surgeries?!
I’m in the waiting room waiting for surgery today. The doc was talking about hernia repair, adhesion removal and scar revision from an old battle wound. No longer excited, more like terrified.

Surgery tomorrow
Thanks for the well wishes. I am sitting in hospital at pre op doing nothing but waiting for a needle to go into my belly before I can go home. Hate needles at the best of times but why in the belly....????

New here! Anyone going for surgery in January 2019??
Thanks for the responses. My surgeon at initial talks confirmed Vitamins for life and I am cool with that . He indicated if I got the sleeve it would be just 2 Centrum 50plus tabs daily which are readily available everywhere. What I don’t see is the Calcium, vitamin D etc etc being available but I guess I can always import them myself. It’s a few years off so anything might happen.

New here! Anyone going for surgery in January 2019??
I just got a tentative date of January 30 after the hospital clerks stuffed my paperwork. One last surgical appt at end of December to confirm type and then onto the pre op liquids. I’m still working through the type of surgery. I was set on a sleeve as had previous abdominal surgery but the surgeons want to do a full bypass. The malabsorption issues put me off though, especially around loss of bone density. I have a plan to retire in the Philippines one day and vitamins aren’t so readily available. I’d appreciate any thoughts on the malabsorption issues if any.

40 something sleevers?
Mine was just pulled too thanks to a bureaucratic stuff up. Was to have been in October but because some clerk didn’t get me in to see the head I am now likely to have to wait another 4-5 months. So annoyed right now.

Just got approval!! Any October sleevers out there?
So annoyed. Just got my surgery moved out due to booking issues. Nothing I have done. Now looking like February. So upset right now

October 2018 Sleevers
Seeing surgeon Tuesday and hoping for a date in October. I’m a newb here. Nice to see encouragement. Really needing this surgery ASAP. Tired of going to a mall and no clothes fit and retail staff ignorance

Today was a big milestone
Awesome dude. Really impressed and so needed to see that right now. I’m about 6-8 weeks out

40 something sleevers?
I’m 48 and just accepted by the medical team after losing 10 kg and holding for 6+months. See the surgeon in a couple weeks and looks like surgery around end of October or into November. It’s been a hard road to keep it off but has to be worth it in the long run. Wish I had been able to do it years ago but even now the family isn’t supportive. I still weigh 140kg even running on the treadmill for 30 mins 4 days a week. Whoever said guys can lose weight easy wasn’t looking at me. Just been watching YouTube vids for the first time. Any tips appreciated
