  1. - I was banded on 1/15/09 and so far so good. Pre-op I was at 316 and the day of surgery I was 299 - (lost 17 pounds. Now I'm 3 days post-op and feeling ok. (now at 291) I had really bad gas pains in my chest. I've been living on gas-x strips and peppermint tea. I did have 1 scrambled egg this morning with a little shredded cheese and feel ok. Do anyone have trouble when swallowing - getting integestion?
  2. how did you feel immediately after surgery?
  3. how did you feel immediately after surgery? Any pain at all and congrats on the weight loss so far.
  4. we are both in the same boat. I had to lose 14 pounds and have been struggling trying to lose it since March. Well, I decided to ask my doctor to prescribe me some appetite suppresants and he did. He prescribed phentermine at the end of July and I went to the doctor today and lost 9 pounds, so I only have 5 pounds to go. The pills helps a lot with your appetite and I started walking on my treadmill about 3 to 4 times a week. I am determined to lose this last 5 pounds, because I want my lapband sooner than later. talk to your doctor and good luck.
  5. Does anyone have blue cross blue shield?
  6. I hope this give you some encouragement to quit smoking. I started my journey for lap band the first of March, 2008. When they told me I had to quit smoking 3 months before surgery, I thought to myself do I really want this surgery or do I want to continue killing myself with food and cigarettes. I was a smoker for over 20 years. I decided on March 10, 2008 which was 5 days after my initial appointment to quit cold turkey. To God be the glory, I had not picked up a cigarette in over 6 weeks. I knew that God can do more for me than any patch or nicorette gum, so I gave it a try - PRAYER, PRAYER, PRAYER. It worked. Now when I have a doctor's appt. I am sooooo proud to tell them that I have quit smoking for good. There comes a time in our life that we have to make decisions to change. I will pray for your strength and if God can take smoking from me, He will do the same for you. Good Luck!!! P.S. You have to hear Dr. Oz (from Oprah Winfrey show) talk about the effects of smoking and that might help you as well. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!
