    CO-Workers knowing you business

Good Afternoon, I used sick time/FMLA and I am a RN and I specifically asked my surgeons office not to put anything that would allude to what kind of surgery I was having, they stated they never did. It was very non specific no one knows the wiser. I did tell my nurses that I supervise and they have been very supportive. One of my nurses cousins had the sleeve over a year ago so it has been nice, she has been sharing her cousins experience with me.
  3. Griffon, I am right there with you. I had my Gastric Sleeve 6/22/18 and I lost 15 lbs on the pre-op diet and then was 300 lbs day of surgery. I came home and I had gained to 309 from fluids because I was so sick from anesthesia and morphine. At my 2 weeks post op I weighed 285 (down 24 lbs.) I have been at 285 for 2 weeks. Yesterday I seen my surgeon for my 1 month appointment and he was very happy. He stated it is very normal for your body to stall like everyone is saying after a large amount of weight is lost right after surgery. Your body will stall and then acclimate and then begin to lose. I have not had any junk food or carbs, I am stickily eating protein or protein shake with my miralax and walking. He said I should start to see about 10-15 lbs a month after the initial weight loss. Believe it or not this morning I was 283. Best of luck and try not to get frustrated.

    June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!

Good Morning, I was sleeved on 6/22/18 and my surgeon said I could have soft foods. I tried scrambled eggs first thing in the morning before any fluid intake and I tolerated them well but I can only tolerate 30 cc or less. I feel better just drinking the protein shakes and hydrating with water. I don't have an appetite and the premier protein shakes taste great along with fair-life milk that had been ultra filtered and has 13 g of protein per cup. I did not tolerated milk before my surgery I was a little scared to try it my dietitian recommended. I mix the milk along with the shake and sip it when I am getting ready and on my way to work. That gives 43 grams of protein right off in the morning.

I had my surgery VGS on 6/22/18, 2 weeks ago today. I did not have any gas pain but I had nausea for 2 days after anesthesia, which I never had with previous surgeries. I have some left supper abdominal pain from the incision that my stomach was removed. It is a small incision and the surgeon said he had to tug it out and it would be sore for a while. I have been doing premier protein shakes and the surgeon advanced me to soft I tolerated the scrambled egg well but can only eat an ounce and I am full. I just don’t know how I will be able to eat even a tiny meal ever again. I gained 9 lbs from fluids while in the hospital. Since returning home I have lost what I gained and lost another 14 lbs. I have lost 23 lbs in 10 days. I know the weight loss will slow since a lot was water weight.

Any June 2018 Sleevers in Here?!

Hello everyone, I have been stalking this site for a good 3-4 weeks gathering great tips, so thank you. I am scheduled to have VGS Surgery on 6/22/18. I have almost completed my 2 week liquid diet. I have found it to be easy, but you can do anything for 2 weeks. It's being able to do it for the long haul that is the problem. I have enjoyed Premier Protein shakes as a meal replacement for years. I purchased a variety of flavors, I usually buy the chocolate at Costco because of the cost, unfortunately they do not have any other flavors. I bought banana and strawberry flavor of Premier Protein at Walmart.com. and have sugar-free popsicles and jello in the refrigerator along with a variety of Greek yogurt flavors. I think with any meal plan being prepared is the key. So far I am down 10 lbs in 11 days.
